pickMy July #bookspin was a middle grade novel off our shelves. The kiddo suggested this one and it ended up being exactly what I needed right now. A wildly fun, outrageous tromp through worlds and time. It‘a like Calvin & Hobbes meets a fantasy novel with a carnivorous unicorn antagonist and three middle school kids who get mixed up in it all. I laughed out loud more than once and couldn‘t put it down. We will definitely have to pick up book 2 soon!

bailedI tried. I really, really tried. A book about unicorns that eat hobbit-type people, frobbits? My 12 year old started reading it at the same time, and I stopped after chapter 1. It was trying waaaay to hard to be funny. The 12 year old loved it.
