I‘ve been doing a ton of yard work this week so I‘m flying through audiobooks!

This one has Maggie and the prime minister crew going to America. Eleanor‘s secretary is found dead as soon as they arrive, so Maggie works with Eleanor to solve the mystery. It also America in the 40s, so you have racism and an execution of a black man on death row. Also John reminds me of Sydney from the Verity Kent series and I don‘t like him.

Fastest read of a #BookSpin yet! I hadn‘t dipped back into this series in months, and when I did I discovered this entry is set in 1941, between Pearl Harbor and the New Year. How perfect. The whole series is terrific. Great characters, a wonderful historical setting, and a mystery that doesn‘t get in the way. I love Maggie. There will be no conventional ending on her watch. The next one is on hold.

Pictured is my latest library hold haul!

Celebrating a wonderful Business of Art workshop yesterday with a weekend of reading! This one follows the intrepid Maggie Hope into the first days of the American involvement in WWII. Cameos from many luminaries, and a thrilling political mystery tinged with social justice. Loooooove!

Tough go of it on the reading front this week. No real reason, just general blahs. Life is so good for me compared to so many, but the blahs do still come on occasion. I may go back to my stalwart Maggie Hope mysteries; they‘re engrossing and a fun read. Cold today here in southern Michigan! A few blooms are finally out now though.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I feel you. Feel fortunate compared to so many others, and while my reading hasn't really bren affected, I have lots of projects to do at home and I'm just not getting any done. Feeling a little peppy this morning so maybe I can do a little something. 4y
MittenGirlPeach @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick that‘s exactly it! Not really getting much done at all here, but I feel peppier today as well, so maybe I‘ll get myself in gear soon. I‘m going to sort out books for the May readathon as well; that should give me a boost! 4y

I enjoyed this installment better than the last, but it still felt a little too all over the place for me...I love Maggie in London! This is a great series and it‘s wonderful seeing Maggie go through the various horrors of history and her own personal ups and downs. I‘m excited to see where the story takes me next! 🌟🌟🌟

Maggie Hope travels to America with Churchill and ends up in the middle of a death sentence case. She also becomes indispensable to the First Lady, who may be in a tricky situation. Very much enjoyed this book and would recommend the series!

Another enjoyable installment in the Maggie Hope series. I appreciate the way MacNeal weaves historical events into her plots. It makes her stories so engaging. And the audiobook book narrator was great. Looking forward to the next one. 4/5⭐️

Just finished another in this series. So well researched. Characters fleshed out. Set in 1941-2; WW II intrigue, travel, adventure, spying, danger. Only one book left in series. 😥

AJones Welcome to Florida! 🌞🌴However, the sun really isn‘t shining too much these days due to tropical storm like weather. Keep in mind it‘s Florida, so it‘s sunny one minute and cloudy the next. Enjoy your visit! 😊 6y
