Perry L. Crandall was the first character to pop into my head when I saw the #MellowCharacter prompt. This book was one of the sweetest stories and it never got the attention it should have when it came out (2007).

Don't we all wish for this!
#TBRtemptation post! Now this sounds like a *very* interesting read! Perhaps in the vein of "Flowers for Algernon"? A mentally handicapped man is raised by his Gram. After she dies, he wins the $12 million lottery, and all kinds of people he never knew start showing up. Some are bad, and some are good. Wow! Great premise! And an almost-4 star rating on Goodreads, to boot. Added! #blameLitsy #blameMrBook ?
Opening line:
"I write things down so I do not forget."

The so-called family that took advantage of Perry once he won the lottery when they were ready to put him on the street before infuriated me. Take away from reading this is "people are the worst"
