This was so good I read it in one sitting. The title caught my attention and the plot sounded super interesting. It wasn‘t until I finished it that I found out it‘s a modern queer retelling of Grease (it didn‘t click for me 🙈). I loved the main romance, the character growth, and the tearjerker side plot. It wasn‘t perfect but I just loved it so 5 ⭐️‘s. I‘ve struggled to enjoy romance novels for a long time, so I highly recommend this one!
Cute romance. It wasn‘t very Grease-like, as it‘s advertised. That wasn‘t a big deal for me, since I don‘t really like Grease (I can‘t get over the morals it‘s recommending). I‘m still getting tired of all the homophobia in gay romances though. It‘s such a trope. 4⭐️

I recently read this one, a cute Grease retelling. The two boys meet during summer vacation at a lake in North Carolina

This is a sweet YA story about a issues that a lot of teens deal. The characters were likable and the situations were realistic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a queer retelling of Grease, but with so much better character development than the original. Ollie spends summer vacation in NC and has a romance with sweet Will. But then his parents decide to move from CA and stay to help his sick aunt so he finds himself at a new school with a surprised Will, who is definitely not out and suddenly distant. I loved these boys and their struggle to deal with friendships, homophobia, and love.
This was super sweet. It's a retelling of Grease. Ollie and Will have a summer fling at the lake. When Ollie and his family move to NC to help his sick aunt, he ends up going to Will's school. #pridemonth #loveislove #lgbt #ya
#finishedreading | This was a really cute retelling of Grease! Will & Ollie were both very sweet characters, even if you did want to shake them sometimes. I enjoyed Ollie‘s narration a lot, & I particularly loved his friendship with prickly Lara. After the long hiatus I had, I needed something that was adorable, fun, & meaningful, & this 100% fit the bill. Definitely recommend if you‘re in the mood for an adorable, engaging, easy rom com. ★★★★☆.
This book is such a will-they-won't-they and I'm sitting here downright squeaking half the time because it's /cute/ and exactly the vibe I need today (because as it turns out my workplace is danger danger and won't reopen until August and I'm a bit upset tbh) and somehow this big lump of cat stays put despite all my little noises. It's the small joys, y'all. ❤️❤️
Does an updated retelling of Grease with a M/M pairing work? Yes, it does! Ollie is a wonderful character and I adored all of The Roses. Even the basketball guys, one of whom is Ollie's love interest, are not as obnoxious as they first appear. I definitely enjoyed this.
My Gran is finally down here after a day of not texting me! It was risky, but we knew it would be safer in the long run to be somewhere more rural. We should be able to go for walks without worrying about people.
💗💗💗 Take the bones of Grease (yes, the movie) but without the ick factor, but make it contemporary, YA, and gay. 💗💗💗
Described as Grease but gay, I did find myself slogging through this relatively short book. I didn't connect with the characters as much as I would like and I felt that Will not being out of the closet yet was no excuse for him constantly leading Ollie on.
Summer Love or Summer Fling? That is what happens between Ollie and Will. Summer comes to an end and Will has officially ghosted Ollie. On the other hand Ollie has a lot of things going on in his life. His parents spring on him that they are staying in Town to help with his dying aunt instead of heading back home to California.
Only Mostly Devastated broke my heart multiple times all while slowly, painfully slowly, putting it back together. This book is, at turns, heart wrenching and heart warming. I cried with and for Ollie. I raged and sighed and felt gutted with and for Ollie. I loved and cheered and hoped with and for Ollie. Only Mostly Devastated does a great job balancing the different realities of coming out.

This is YA, and it‘s filled with just about every YA trope you can think of. No surprises. But it was still a fun, enjoyable, feel good read. A good palate cleanser from some of the heavier stuff I‘ve been reading lately.
My goodreads giveaway book made it! I hope it's as good as it sounds. 🤞📚🎶 And now I have the Grease song stuck in my head...
🎵 Summer lovin', had me a blast... 🎵
