I have enjoyed every book that I've read by Lucinda Berry.
She used to be a psychologist and uses her expertise to write psychological thrillers.
Her stories are gripping and suspenseful. "When She Returned" is all of the above.

💨 I read this in a single afternoon. Speed!!!!
A gripping psych-thriller that challenges the bounds of family and chosen family. I find cult stories fascinating and this one gave a Jonestown vibe for sure. The characters are likeable albeit not complex and the story carries quickly. A fast summer read.
It‘s been a minute since I‘ve posted 😬 life I tell ya. Never feel like I have time or energy. I need to fix that this has always been one of my favorite spaces
I‘ve been reading and working and being mom to a now 16 yr old Man Cub!
I‘ve read some good stuff in the last 4 months. I‘m thinking I‘ll post the highlights (probably tomorrow cause it‘s bedtime) or just a run down.
Hope all are doing ok!
Lucinda Berry always gives her readers lots of twists and disturbing situations to be uncomfortable through (this is my face through much of it 😬). This particular story was a really unique concept, with a mother/wife disappearing seemingly out of the blue and then reappearing years later. What happened? Well I actually seemed to be able to figure out every twist in this one, including the big one at the end ☹️. Still a crazy ride! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
This gripping and fast-paced thriller had me at the edge of my seat. The plot was intriguing with a fresh spin on the premise of a missing person returning after 11 years. The twist was shocking, heartbreaking, and dark. Even if the ending was a little abrupt, this is the kind of thriller I love - one that keeps you turning pages long after you should be in bed (or ending your lunch break). I will definitely be reading more from Berry! 4⭐️
Got stuck in a really bad reading funk for a long time, now I think I'm finally ready to get back to it!!!
This one ended abruptly again, however, I am almost glad it did. I could not believe all the twists and turns. Lucinda Berry is my next favorite author! #5star #bookreview #5starreview #lucindaberry
3.5 stars
I think Berry is a fantastic and insightful writer. She addresses important topics and gives the reader an opportunity to understand how circumstances we shake our heads over end up occurring. She definitely understands how fragile human beings are.

I really enjoyed this mystery thriller but I don‘t want to give too much away. Super short summary is a mother disappears for numerous years to return and find her husband and daughter have a new family. And of course there are lots of secrets involved.

Evening reading with a cup of coffee and a candle! Plus The Goonies is playing in the background.
A great concept which started off brilliantly but fell a bit flat towards the middle. The pacing of the story stalled and practically stopped and I had questions which weren‘t touched on until near the end. Thankfully the ending redeemed the book but I really wish that I liked it more. Still a pick but with reservations. #NetGalley
Another e-ARC from #NetGalley. Feeling like some psychological mystery tonight.
