Last weekend was the #deweys24hourreadathon. My plan was to focus on these two books. It was a gorgeous day, and I had a good start, but my son was going through something and needed his Mama to listen. I‘m so grateful that he wanted to talk and that I could help him get some feelings out. I only got 10 hours of reading in, instead of my normal 12-14, so I didn‘t quite finish either book. Being there for my kid was worth it. ❤️📚 #deweysreadathon

I guess, with this update now, I have a bingo?

Finished one book, started four new ones. Only one of the four I started was on my tentative #TBR. ??

Also, what exactly counts as a spooky treat? My European mind can't think of something other than "must mean disgusting".

bthegood For me spooky treat would mean candy or something I get while trick or treating?? maybe not the intentions but that is what comes to my mind 😄 2mo

Finished Sipsworth on a #readathon date with my husband while he was finishing up A Man Called Ove! A perfect pairing. ❤️ I wanted a book that would make me feel like I did when I read A Man Called Ove years ago, and this did that. A touching story where we get to know and love the characters and relish connection and hope. #deweysreadathon

This was a fun and fascinating middle grade narrative nonfiction. It describes the theft and investigation of that theft of the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in alternating chapters with information about the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci. I may need to check it out in print at some point as well to see the illustrations.

This was a cute YA romance about a teenage blogger and a boy who spends his time outside of school helping in his family‘s traditional tea shop. Online, they‘re enemies, but you can guess how it goes when they unknowingly meet in real life to work together for small businesses in Chinatown threatened by a corporate buyout.

Happy Saturday morning! I‘m starting a quiet Saturday morning with breakfast casserole and coffee while I catch up on the last few chapters of David Copperfield for October.

I have lots of things to work on at home today since I‘ve been gone the last few weekends, but I plan to listen to lots of audio and fit in some print reading for the Dewey‘s Readathon as well.

Dewey‘s readathon is tomorrow! I can‘t wait to unplug for 24 hours, as I seem to be anxiety-ridden these days. I wonder why. 😳🤯😰🫣

Caterina Great stack! I didn't realize the readathon was tomorrow. Where are they posting about it these days? The Litsy account seems inactive and so does their blog. 2mo
Readerann @Caterina @charl08 I participate on Goodreads (there is a Dewey‘s Readathon group). It‘s also on Discord, Instagram, and maybe Facebook. There isn‘t a sign-up on the blog any more. 2mo

Overall a pick, but sometimes it‘s hard to move past the frequent fat shaming/ emphasis on Vera Stanhope‘s appearance in these books. Some books it feels less obvious, for whatever reason I noticed it more with this one, Also not really sure what to make of the inclusion of a plot line centering on a false sexual assault allegation. Not sure what to make of that. But always a great atmosphere in these books, I felt compelled to keep reading.
