I love this book. I love everything Forleo says, and I love how direct and no nonsense she is in the way she tells it.

I also love the journal prompts at the end of each chapter. This book is not designed to be read passively. You have to engage with the material in order to get the most out of it, and Forleo provides actionable steps you can use to do just that. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I feel like I'll be referring to this book for years to come. I went through two highlighters while reading it. It was exactly what I needed, a lot of motivation and easy steps to encourage you that all goals are achievable if you are willing to put in the work. Loved it!

It‘s just that kind of day.
It might take a new one to believe this to be true.
If you‘re in that space, I hope this reminder is something that can encourage you, even if your situation or current mood only changes in small ways today. 💜

Marie provides a lot of advice for women (no matter what age or stage you are at in life) and shares her personal experiences with others about how she followed her heart and proved to everybody that EVERYTHING IS FIGUREOUTABLE!!!! Yes. That is right. You will not regret this book. it is life changing. Check out MarieForleo.com/EIF

Chapter 6
Insight to Action plan to discover your dreams.

Once a day for seven days, fill a page in your journal continually answering the prompt, "What I really want is..."

Don't look at the previous pages until the 7th day. Then circle the ones that repeat.

Sparkin Maybe I should give this a shot 5y

Chapter 5 - You never get stronger if you only do easy things.

F.E.A.R. - Fuck everything and run? False evidence appearing real? Face everything and rise!

You will always feel fear. Fear is figureoutable.

"If a fear cannot be articulated, it can't be conquered." ~Steven King

How to conquer fear: Imagine the absolute worst case scenario, your worst nightmare. If it were to come true, then what? How would you recover and rebuild? Write it out.

Eggs So true ❤️👏🏻❤️ 5y

The brain is wired to answer questions. Instead of letting limiting beliefs shut you down, give your brain the respect it deserves to think on your behalf.

Change "I can't" into "How can I?"
Change "I know this already" into "What can I learn from this?"

Where do beliefs come from?
1) environment (think hand-me-down beliefs)
2) experience
3) evidence (think experts)
4) examples (think role models)
5) envisioning (when there are no examples)

Listened to this one as an #audiobook which was rather repetitive, but most #selfhelp books are, so it wasn't a huge surprise. I wasn't familiar with Marie Forleo's work at all prior to reading this, and to be honest I haven't looked up her videos after finishing the book either. I do love the idea that most things are "figureoutable".

Sace I started reading that book but never finished it. I found the most helpful part to be the title. 🤣 5y

Next up #audiobook -- seems like more self help than I had bargained for but it's not horrible just yet.
Dinner was half a sweet potato with cinnamon and pecans and a salad. 🍠 🥗

I'm already struggling with this book. Can a person be too cynical for self help?

julesG Some self-help books are for the bin. 5y
Sace @julesG and I don't read enough of them to know which ones are good and which ones are trash. Most of the time they make me feel worse. 5y
julesG I've read a lot of self-help/advice/... in the past years. In most cases the important message(s) fit on a postcard (or a post-it) and the rest of the book is just bla. 5y

Sace @julesG you've got me thinking and I think How Proust Can Change Your Life is one of the few self help books that I enjoyed. 5y
julesG Thanks! I'll give it a try. 5y
Sace @julesG I hope you enjoy it. I had an electronic copy, but now that I'm thinking about it again I decided I wanted a physical copy too. Sometimes I don't realize how much impact a book has until years later when something jogs my memory. 5y
