Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of Death
Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of Death | M. C. Beaton
12 posts | 29 read | 1 reading | 2 to read
This time, in Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of Death, the feisty sleuth stumbles upon the victim of an unnatural death in Cotswold village's famous natural spring. Who was the unlucky corpse? The Ancombe Parish Council chairman-and the only uncommitted member voting on whether to allow the Ancombe Water Company to tap into the town's spring. Add ex-fiance James, watery politicians, and slippery entrepreneurs to the mix, and you have Agatha Raisin up to her neck in a murky murder mystery.

Audiobook

Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of Death is the 7th book in the Agatha Raisin series. Agatha is asked by Roy to do some PR for the Wellspring Water Group. Soon she is enthralled in a murder, but before it can be solved another happens. James has an active part in this book. I was laughing at some of the things she got into. Beaton writes a great cozy series.

For *expletive*'s sake, James Lacey is THE WORST.

Aside from James, this instalment was good. I don't like Agatha being so down on herself but the mystery kept me guessing.

Book 3/9 for #OutstandingOctober

Agatha Raisin is embroiled yet again in a murder mystery, competing against other amateur sleuths to find the culprit. I‘m greatly enjoying Penelope Keith‘s narration of the story. I‘m still in the rereading phase of the series - nearly caught up to my ending point many years ago - so it‘s been a fun revisit of Agatha‘s earlier shenanigans. The books were also incredibly short, so the audio is less than 6 hours!

It‘s been awhile since I had rainbow shelves, but I‘ve decided to lean into it. Previously this bookshelf was all double (and when possible triple) stacked with lots of knickknacks and misc stuff everywhere, so I‘m digging the new arrangement for now. #shelfie

A decent showing from MC Beaton as Agatha Raisin struggles with thoughts of going out with younger men whilst solving a couple of murders.

I‘ve found myself looking at houses in the Cotswold‘s of the UK, just because Agatha lives there 😂

Too many suspects/characters for my brain to keep track of...I confess this maybe the three month old.

For me personally, this was one of the books that an eeriness to it the other Agatha Raisin books didn't have. I was very drawn into the story line of this book and thoroughly enjoyed it! ☺

I wouldn't want to drink from the well again though!
