Collision of Lies
Collision of Lies | Tom Threadgill
11 posts | 6 read | 6 to read
Three years ago, a collision between a fast-moving freight train and a school bus full of kids led to devastation and grief on an unimaginable scale. But a fresh clue leads San Antonio police detective Amara Alvarez to the unlikely conclusion that one of the children may still be alive. If she's correct, everything law enforcement believes about the accident is a lie. With time running out, Amara must convince others--and herself--that despite all evidence to the contrary, the boy lives. And she will do everything in her power to bring him home. A fresh voice in suspense, Tom Threadgill will have you questioning everything as you fly through the pages of this enthralling story.

What‘s not to like? A riveting mystery, San Antonio setting, and a plucky, clever detective named Amara Alvarez. Three years ago a collision in Cotulla between a fast moving train and a school bus full of children led to devastation and unimaginable grief—but was it an accident? Bonus: preview of the next A. Alvarez thriller

Wow, I enjoyed this one more than I expected to!! A town was devastated when a school bus and a train collided. The children were believed to have all perished, but when new evidence is found three years later, a detective digs into the story to find out whether there were any survivors. This story was a little choppy and heartbreaking at times, but mostly it was suspenseful and I couldn‘t put it down. The ending was a little abrupt but ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TheLibrarian That has happened to me a few times with them. Sometimes the publishers are super nice and send me a finished copy. 5y

Another Revell publication that sucked me in practically from the first page and kept me engrossed to the end. Lots of twists and turns - I couldn't predict where the story was going. Some tense scenes towards the end, a very satisfying resolution, all in all a intricately plotted suspense story.

San Antonio Texas Det. Amara Alverez discovers that a school bus accident may not be what it seems. The accident involves murder, kidnapping and other crimes. Book was fast-paced & hard to put down. Loved Alverez and her pet iguana. She is an amazing heroine as she tries to save the children. The plot was very intriguing and held my attention to the very end. Recommend to those who love thrillers. Thanks to Revell and LibraryThing for a free copy.

cathysaid Sounds interesting! Pet iguana?!! I have no emoji for that. 5y
EadieB @cathysaid Larry, the iguana, has a big part in the story! 5y
Panic70 Sounds interesting. I love animal side kicks. 5y
