mcipher OMG I had forgotten this book until now! I read it over and over as a kid even though I remember finding it deeply uncomfortably sad. I need to find a copy! 7mo

The tagged was given to me by my aunt when I was a young girl. For being a huge reader all my life, I rarely am gifted books... 🤔
I worked at a haunted house for a season. Probably the most fun I‘ve ever had making money.
I always give this answer, but it‘s always true: my husband. This week we‘ve been motivating each other to work out more.

Cosmos_Moon_River Oooo! Haunted houses are so fun! I volunteered for one in high school. Fun to scare people 😂 4y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm @Cosmos_Moon Yes! The best scare I saw was when one of the youngest cast members we had (I think she was only about 10) literally floored a full grown man. 😂🤣😂 4y
Cosmos_Moon_River Lol! That is awesome! 4y

One of my favorite books. I first read it when I was 8 years old and I have read it many times over the last 20 years.

I recommend it if you enjoy somewhat supernatural young adult novels.

This was a great story & I totally related to Maggie, sullen and angry. I'm not sure why I missed this as a kid, but I'm glad my friend suggested it! It's a story about a misfit girl who has experienced quite a tragedy until she goes to live with relatives at an old manor house. It's an excellent tween book, as Maggie herself is stuck between childhood and adulthood herself.

Having one of those days where being an adult & responsible for short people who think they're grown is far harder than normal. I'm going back to my #kidlit and #chinadolls. They want to be grown, let them figure out how to do laundry!!!! #momlife #ineedalobotomy #likeasnakepit

Taking a break from the #StephenKingProject to read a book that was recommended to me by a close friend. It was her favorite book growing up and I promised to give it a try! Snagged it for a buck at my favorite used book store in Connecticut, #TheBookBarn. It's about 2 hours away but an awesome day trip and TOTALLY worth supporting am incredible small business!

mswriterlygirl I loved that book as a girl. 8y

#BookJar 2017 about ready to go. I'm doing several #rereads because if I remember story details over decades, then that tale deserves further study. From a writer perspective, I call it craft research, but, really, I just love them so much. #litsyAtoZ, too, since further challenge is always welcome. Adventures await!!! I'm excited.

Isn't this a creepy cover? A children's book about taking dolls? God I loved this one as a kid. I'm kind tempted to reread it! #booktober @RealLifeReading

BekahB Super creepy! My grandma used to buy me porcelain dolls when I was a kid and they always creeped me out at night. 😬 8y
GlitteryOtters Ahh, I have this very edition on my shelves right now! Definitely creepy! 😂😂 8y
GlitteryOtters Also, I found that it holds up reasonably well for a re-read as an adult, if you want to give it a shot and have roughly 1.5 to 2 hours time to fill. 8y

Zelma I remember this book very well. So creepy and great! 👍 8y
8little_paws @BekahB I loved being creeped out as a kid. I was weird @GlitteryOtters ok I'll definitely have to check this out then. I hope it's as creepy as I remember! @Zelma glad I'm not the only one!! Sometimes with childhood books, you're like "did I invent that story?" Took me some googling to figure out the title. 8y
Zelma @8little_paws nice google skills. I couldn't have come up with the title without searching either. 8y

#FunPhotoFriday my #MiddleGrade book pick is Behind the Attic wall. Sometimes I think of it and I think, was this a creepy book and I just didn't get that it was creepy? I'll have to pull it off the shelf this week and give it a re-read. We got to dedicate books through our Accelerated Reader program in elementary school, and this was my pick! Did anyone else read this one?

bookishkai I read it and remember it being pretty creepy. 8y

I read a lot of books as a child so it was really difficult for me to pick just one favourite for this week's #FunFridayPhoto. I decided to highlight this one since it is likely deserves much of the credit for my eventual obsession with Gothic stories. It is a haunting and emotional read, complete with a spooky mansion, mysterious voices, and an ending that always gives me chills. I recently reread it as an adult and I still love it!

[DELETED] 2232195534 I remember seeing that one but have never read it. I'll look for it. 😀 8y
