Seeing as we‘ve all been posting our #top10ofthedecade I thought you might like to see the *actual* top 10 selling books of the decade in the UK, courtesy of The Bookseller, printed in The Times today.....

What do you think?!

Freespirit I think that is a pretty ordinary list 😬 So many better books but I suppose these made the most 💰 money 5y
Sace That's a rather sad list to me, but money talks. 5y
JanuarieTimewalker13 I‘ve never read one of them. Lol 5y

JanuarieTimewalker13 I wonder what the American list looks like. 5y
Billypar Oh dear 😯 I did have to look up 'Gangsta Granny'... not sure if that's one that failed to cross the pond, or if I'm just out of touch with modern children's classics. 5y
Billypar Thinking about this more: the saddest thing to me isn't that people shouldn't read these particular books, but that most people are choosing from such a limited menu of reading options. The same goes for lists of literary classics. Why I don't take Litsy for granted - so glad I landed here! 5y
squirrelbrain It is rather isn‘t it @sace? 🤔 5y
squirrelbrain @JanuarieTimewalker13 - I‘ve read Girl on a Train and Gone Girl. I agree @Billypar, such a limited list. Even the two that I‘ve read (and enjoyed) have spawned a whole genre of ‘unreliable narrator‘ novels that some people won‘t ever read outside of. 5y
squirrelbrain @Billypar - not sure if David Walliams is known in the US? He‘s an entertainer / comedian / one of the judges on Britain‘s Got Talent. 5y
Sace @JanuarieTimewalker13 excellent question! *scurries off to try to Google* 5y
julesG The top three are no surprise. Still, I wish they were further down the list. 5y
squirrelbrain Some the same on that list @Sace , but good to see a wider range! 5y
Sace @squirrelbrain I think that's just because there's 25. Still, it pains me to see those 50 shades books 😂 5y
Sace @julesG me too! 5y
squirrelbrain I thought they were your favourites @julesg?! 🤣 (edited) 5y
Slajaunie Oh wow, that is a disappointing list. 5y
BarbaraBB I am disappointed in the UK‘s taste again (silly joke, I know 😉) 5y
squirrelbrain What can I say @barbarabb?! 🤷‍♀️ 5y
rockpools I confess to having read 5 of these. I might not confess which. But Gangsta Granny was by far the best! 5y
Deifio Jaimie Oliver's 30 minute meals are great! The top ones are not for me 5y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @Sace Thank you!!! 5y
squirrelbrain @RachelO - your secret‘s safe with us...! 🤣 @Deifio - I have that one too - it is good isn‘t it? 5y
julesG Favourite from the bottom up. 🥴 5y
Cinfhen Whoa!!! Would you look at that?!?!! You kinky Brits 😜😜😜 5y
