I liked the book overall, but I felt like the main character found too many people on her side, if that makes sense. Every person she comes across (save for her adversaries) is on her side. It felt too… convenient? Writing was decent, pacing good, audiobook read well. Not too many complaints, but I‘m not sure if I‘ll pick up book two. #doublespin for this month. @TheAromaofBooks

I do like this first book, it has a good beginning and the essence of the original story is quite interesting.

I decided this morning that my goal for #24B4Monday would be to reach 12 hours of reading. Add an hour onto the stopwatch time to account for the time I spent reading in the office and the time I forgot to start the stopwatch while listening to an audiobook, and you‘ll see I‘m nearly there! I think I can read another 12 minutes before bed. I finished 3 books and got more than halfway through Crewel, so I consider this a successful readathon. Yay!

I‘m mostly enjoying this book—I like Adelice and I‘m really intrigued by the world and how the magic works. But blech, I‘m so sick of this YA trope of the Hot Mysterious Boy Who Knows Things and Won‘t Tell. #24B4Monday

Baby is asleep, husband is out. Time to curl up in the big comfy chair with a cup of tea and a YA dystopia. #24B4Monday

Kind of a hokey premise. A mass delusion type thing.
