Different people interpret this poem differently.
(cont)..
Like the sun's tears,
Like the moon's seed, rubbish
And fire, the flying rant
Of the sky, king of your six years.
And the wicked wish,
Down the beginning of plants
And animals and birds,
Water and Light, the earth and sky,
Is cast before you move,
And all your deeds and words,
Each truth, each lie,
Die in unjudging love.
(Written for his son Llewelyn Thomas).

Clown in the moon - Dylan Thomas
My tears are like the quiet drift
Of petals from some magic rose;
And all my grief flows from the rift
Of unremembered skies and snows.
I think, that if I touched the earth,
It would crumble;
It is so sad and beautiful,
So tremulously like a dream.

Do not go gentle into that good night
“Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”
Just the first stanza of this poem that came to mind for #gentle. #quotsyapril18 @TK-421
Today is the birthday of Dylan Thomas.He died in New York in 1953 , he was 39. He had lung issues , to say he did not take care of himself , well ,that‘s an understatement. He said he had 13 glasses of whiskey,some people have their doubts,I just wish he had lived long enough to write more poems & watch his kids grow up. He was on tour in NYC, his fave watering hole, The White Horse Tavern on Hudson .He is there , I toast him ,when I am there.
#crushingongiveaway #payitforward @Cinfhen This is so very kind & a lovely idea 🙏. I would choose a book of poetry because I want to / need to get into that habit. And I would only read poetry from an actual real book. Dylan Thomas , Sylvia Plath. ( this is a pic my nephew sent me today, he is here on holls) & thanks again, @Cinfhen , you are a lovely lady 💕
#fbf to last month when I made my pals go with me to the White Horse Tavern in NYC even though I dont drink, because its where Dylan Thomas nearly drank himself to death and was last seen alive. Literary tourism = best tourism!
