This is an important book about first times for everything, especially for a teenage girl. I didn‘t really like Claude or Miah as characters, but the writing was real poetry; so well-constructed & beautifully descriptive.
Hopefully a holiday week will mean extra reading time 📚
pickNiven captures the breathlessness of first love in this NA story about newly graduated Claude whose life implodes when her parents announce a separation and she ends up traveling to an island off the coast of Georgia with her mom. There she meets Jeremiah Crew, who upends her world and mends her heart. First love was a long-ass time ago for me, but this brought back those memories and then some. Loved it.

pickJennifer Nivan writes such beautiful and powerful stories , I understand some may think this not her finest work compared to "All The Bright Places " but personally I love this book even more ... its raw and genuine :)
Definitely a must read for any YA reader
pickJennifer Niven's voice gives characters life, believable, flawed, coming of age, all the things that make teenager young adults feel vulnerable and fearless at the same time. Knowing what was won't always be. Claude and Miah found love when they didn't expect it and it a short time tested its bond and longevity. I am definitely adding the "I love you more than..." to my parenting now, what a fun way to celebrate all the things that make us, us.
