For the #GrandParentsDay prompt, I thought of this book series which features a group of grandmotherly ladies & especially the 3rd & tagged book. In it the main character, Parker, is a celebrity baker who has lost her mojo & hopes to get it back while helping these “Golden Girls” recreate their own grandmothers‘ recipes.

When I saw this series was perfect for fans of Amy Reichert I knew I had to read it and it definitely lived up to the promise! I love the characters, especially the golden girls, and the setting was beautiful! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I realized I didn‘t post my review on Litsy yet. 3rd book in Bocci‘s 3-book Hopeless Romantics series & my favorite as it‘s the story of Parker, a semi-famous baker trying to get her baking mojo back. Even though I‘m not a baker, I like to read about them & the quirky & fun townspeople & citizens of Hope Lake—especially the sassy seniors. Romance & recipes. I paired it with Cornbread & Blueberry Bread Pudding—mostly to use up leftovers.😉Link👇🏻

I got about 4 hours of reading time in today & made some progress for the #NutsinMay #readathon as I finished the tagged book for a book tour review next week & read this week‘s section of The Sun Down Motel for tomorrow‘s #BOTMBuddyRead discussion. I quit reading for a bit to watch The Downton Abbey movie (finally). I am now rewatching Sense and Sensibility (1995) & reading Chapter 9 for #PemberLittens #multitasking.😉#wildsaturdaynight

I‘m not going to set time goals for reading but these are the 8 books I want to start reading, finish up &/or get caught up on for this readathon 5/9-5/17. 3 are for readalongs, 1 for virtual foodie book club, 2 are #ARCs & most are in various stages of progress.

First up tomorrow is going to be finishing the tagged book for a book tour next week & finish Empire of Wild, then read the next section of The Sun Down Motel.

I loved this book so much!! It was perfect feel-good reading and I‘m certain I‘ll revisit it again. The friend group is wonderful and I love that the book leans heavily into baking-mostly cupcakes and cakes, although it inspired me to make a strawberry cobbler🍓

This is the third book in a small-town series, but it worked just fine as a starting point. I‘m going back to read the first two books now since I loved the story and characters so much.

Some of the books I hope to get to in May-although missing are audiobooks & e-books on my Kindle including Tell the Wolves I‘m Home for the #MaybeNow #buddyread & a few #ARC s. Sense and Sensibility for #PemberLittens & 3 for book tours (the center of the stack) + a cookbook review. I‘m going to try to fit in The Sun Down Motel & join in the #BOTM BuddyRead but I don‘t know if I can make it all happen. The🐔🐔🐔are doubtful!😉

It is raining so hard outside right now and this book 📖 and coffee ☕️ is delightful while my house is still quiet. Perfect, perfect morning.
