Hunger: A Gone Novel
Hunger: A Gone Novel | Michael Grant
It's been three months since everyone under the age of fifteen became trapped in the bubble known as the FAYZ. Three months since all the adults disappeared. Gone. Food ran out weeks ago. Everyone is starving, but no one wants to figure out a solution. And each day, more and more kids are evolving, developing supernatural abilities that set them apart from the kids without powers. Tension rises and chaos is descending upon the town. It's the normal kids against the mutants. Each kid is out for himself, and even the good ones turn murderous. But a larger problem looms. The Darkness, a sinister creature that has lived buried deep in the hills, begins calling to some of the teens in the FAYZ. Calling to them, guiding them, manipulating them. The Darkness has awakened. And it is hungry.

Hunger was the amazing second book in the Gone series. I still preferably believe it is the best series I‘ve ever read.

I had a little bit of a harder time with this second installment in the series. It was darker, which I liked, but I found it dragged in a few places. Still one I would recommend, it just didn't grab me the way that the first one did. 3.5 🌟s

A bit of a sleepless night in our house, so it only makes sense to read about highly intelligent worms and teenagers with crazy powers right?

All jokes aside, I'm really enjoying the second book in the Gone series! (Dinner wasn't half bad either!) Really looking forward to #readathon coming up in a couple of weeks so I can plow through the rest of the series :)

This is a solid follow-up to Gone. With food running out and nowhere to go, there aren‘t many choices left for our teens! It‘s gripping and full of action, deftly setting you up for the next installment.

I bought this book and the second one because I've been into world disasters. Anyways, it reminds me of Lord of the flies. Children against each other, teenagers having to care for babies, and running low on supplies. The ending was interesting and a twist. Next is to read the second one :)

It's less than two hours to midnight here so I won't finish my current book before the end of the year, but I surpassed my 2016 goal by 22 books so I'm going to go ahead and call it a win 😉

? Das stört mich ein wenig. Bitte keine Schema-F-Reihe!

Not as good as Gone. It started out well enough, but 2/3 in I found myself feeling bored and horrified at once — it seemed like the rhythm got more monotonous but the story became more gruesome, which is a very bad combination. Not ready to give up on the series, but giving this ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have always believed that challenges bring out the real us, good and bad. I love this story about kids left to their own devices and seeing how some grow up overnight... It's a book, and it's fantasy, but in some way it is so realistic.
