Today is #TransgenderDayOfVisibility and to celebrate I read this YA coming out story centered around a HS student government election. The voices of the kids were totally authentic and this was a really fun listen! This is the second YA story I‘ve read recently where LGBTQ youth challenge the “it gets better” narrative, demanding that they deserve better where they‘re at in the moment,👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
I‘d been inching closer to identifying as nonbinary, but I was struggling to embrace they/them pronouns for myself. This quote made me realize that I can be nonbinary and use she/her pronouns.
So I‘m officially coming out as nonbinary. Still she/her.
Just picked this one up the other day. It was just too cute to pass up.
Coffee and a book on the patio is a perfect start to the day.
