⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Had me wondering what would happen right til the end. The lies, bullying, and fakness. And that was just the parents. Jeez. Happens in real life, unfortunately. Kids create their own path. I wish all parents could embrace that. As a parent of two teenagers, this book broke my heart as well as enraged me at the way the parents just disregarded their kids.
Mirroring real life events, this book is about über-wealthy, privileged, white woman who are WAY too involved in ensuring that their children go to the “right” college. The theatrics that they go through are truly outrageous. There is one student who is brilliant but comes from a poor, single-parent home. A few of these children are hell-bent on getting in to Stanford but there is only one spot open. That‘s when all hell breaks loose.
College admissions scandal-fiction anyone? Disturbing AF. Read for Sep2021 Book Club. A lot of good discussion around this warped book.
For fans of rich people involved in scandals.

A dark but entertaining book about college admissions from the point of view of parents with kids in an elite Washington high school. I read this for a work book club, and we should have plenty to discuss!
It‘s a beautiful, not so hot day here today. I see a few hours of reading outside in my future #LitsySummerCamp
The stakes are high in this book about ultra competitive families trying to get their daughters into Stanford. A good look into the lengths the elite will go to make it to the top.
So excited! I won a book in the recent giveaway! Thanks! Sourcebooks Landmark Bookmarked For Book Clubs

“This is beyond soap opera, it‘s Jerry Springer level”
Three HS seniors attending the same exclusive Seattle private school are informed that Stanford University will only be accepting one of them. Let the drama begin. It‘s not just the students who bring out the claws, it‘s the moms!!!! I see this book as an HBO miniseries ala Big Little Lies. Hmmm, maybe Felicity Huffman & Lori Loughlin can star.

Fully engaged with this #MomsBehavingBadly saga ~ I know for many this book seems over the top but sadly I‘ve experienced this rat race. Definitely Big Little Lies vibes #AudioArc #NetGalley
This is a cautionary tale on the dangers of elitism. It‘s also a timely one. This story focuses on 3 women‘s desire to give their daughters the best future, no matter the cost. Each has different motives, but the message is the same. While gripping, this was disturbing. The levels of obsession and desperation people go to to buy a perceived happiness are staggering. It often leaves them ironically miserable in their journey to get there.
I received this ARC from Net Galley. Excited to get cracking!
