Here‘s my review for a book I bailed on.

I decided to start this book. I started this book after my grandma passed away on Nov 20, 2021 and then I decided to stop listening because I didn‘t feel like I could focus on reading anything and I fell into a reading slump for awhile but I‘m coming back to this book now because I‘m ready to read it again. I‘m enjoying it so far. I feel like I will be able to finish it this time because I‘m not in a reading slump.

Love a psychological thriller, especially when set in the backdrop of a seemingly normal life!

Free listen on Audible (and a KindleUnlimited book) that turned me on to this author. I enjoyed the story, the twists and the characters. A favorite read from this year.

Today, I‘m sharing my downloaded audiobooks from Audible. Last year after my grandma passed away, I started listening to Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre and then I bailed on it until I was ready to come back to it because I felt like I was falling into a reading slump. I still haven‘t gotten back to it. I haven‘t been in the mood to read it but when I come back to it, I‘ll start it all over again. Maybe in 2023, I‘ll come back to it.

It was alright

What a great mystery! Just enough twists that kept it from being too predictable. I don‘t feel bad for Nina, at all. I like a good book about psycho women, muhahaha. Book #42 in 2022

It was interesting enough to keep me engaged and wonder what would happen next. I thought the ending was a bit underwhelming.

A decent story which moves along at a fast pace. Told in two POV which I found a bit disappointing but I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator put very little effort into creating two noticeably different characters so that is likely the problem. No great surprises or “ah ha” moments but interesting and reasonably enjoyable for the most part.

Here is my reading progress from the Storygraph app. I didn‘t update my reading progress for this book until today because I forgot. I‘ve only listened to the first 2 chapters but I like it so far. Since my grandma passed away on Nov 20, I‘ve been feeling sad and I feel like I‘m in a reading slump. I don‘t think I can focus on a book right now. On Sunday afternoon, I watched a movie and on Sunday night, I stayed up late crying.

This was a perfect Halloween read because it's as addictive as your favorite candy. Perhaps no new ground here but it's a very enjoyable cat and mouse game.

The whole covet thy neighbor troupe has been done before but this one was still pretty interesting. It was very fast paced, short chapters, and told from different POVs, so it was a fairly quick read. Nothing to overly shocking to keep you on the edge of your seat with this domestic thriller, but enough to keep you entertained.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ A domestic thriller starring rich white people with rich white people problems, the inevitable love triangle, and told from multiple POV. None of that is exactly unique, but the writing was much better I typically expect from such books. A.R. Torre, who also writes romance as Alessandra Torre, impressed me with her fast-paced, (mostly) believable storytelling, and cringy characters - and kept my #bookclub guessing!

Hoping to finish up this #bookclub pick while I get the running boards on my new Tahoe installed - I drove my old vehicle for 15years, so I was due! 🤩 Anyway, the running boards arrived a couple of weeks after the vehicle, because supply chains are so wonky. I gotta say, this is pretty relaxing. Coffee, a book, no kids, no chores I can do. 😂

Just starting this one. Anyone else read this one? No spoilers please.

Like I said, I am tired of the "crazy woman" trope BUT I never viewed either woman as crazy. Calculating, driven, determined, not crazy. I don't know where it fits in genre wise, but it was enjoyable to see schemes implode and relationships untangle. It was almost like TRHW, trashy and addicting. I recommend this one for a quick, engaging read. If it's on your TBR stack, just read it.

I'm tired of the crazy women trope. BUT, I really didn't see either of the women as crazy. Instead, I saw them engaging in behaviors that in men are admired but are unbecoming in women. This book is a trip.

Every Last Secret is deliciously scandalous...a juicy, oh-no-she-didn't-go-there, domestic thriller...that will ultimately surprise you with its boldness, charm, and even humility. At first, I didn't like any of the characters...and eventually, I realized I didn't need to or maybe I wasn't supposed to. But by the end...I think I liked them all, at least a little. The excellent narration made this book even more of a treat.

Every Last Secret is a great thriller about a love triangle gone wrong. The story is told alternating between Cat and Neena‘s perspectives. All of the characters have secrets. I am usually not a fan of love triangle and cheating books, but I really enjoyed Every Last Secret.
