Not what I expected, and didn‘t care for it. I wanted to, but no. Points for trying, I guess, but it did not work for me at all.

What a bizarre and delightful book! This was a really fun, really odd middle grade graphic novel about a girl going to summer camp to make friends. But it‘s really a lot more than that, and you‘ll have to read it yourself to see why! The illustrations have great little details too.

LibrarianRyan Long distance is Awesome. Loved it. I‘m in the minirity but I didn‘t like star gazing. I have been dying to read Po. And I just added The leak to my list this morning. Witch light and measuring up look good too. 3y

4.5⭐
This is just too much fun packed into one book. Vega has to move from Portland to Seattle, and she is not happy about it. She is even more annoyed when her dads send her to camp for the soul purpose of making new friends. Follow along as the camp kids figure out what is going on at camp, come to everyone‘s rescue and actually make new friends. This book was a really fun romp and it reads quickly.

This middle grade graphic novel reminded me of Vera Brosgol‘s Be Prepared in all sorts of good ways. Moving is always hard. Your parents sending you away to summer camp so that you can make new friends even harder. Vega agrees to go...reluctantly. It‘s just as fun as she expects, which is to say it isn‘t much fun at all. And then she makes a friend & another & then there is an absolutely fantastic twist. A really fun read. Recommended. Out 7/21.

Today‘s #bookhaul is a graphic novel ARC. I love seeing the art in progress—usually the colors aren‘t finished in the ARCs—and then comparing it to the final print edition. I‘ve read another one by this author that I enjoyed. Hopefully this will be another fun read.
