To what lengths would you go to save books?
The book asks this question on a macro level, but I saw it as more personal.

This is a solid addition to the cannon of WWII stories. It‘s been translated from Spanish and I thought the translator did a wonderful job. Several passages were quite beautiful. I‘m in a major funk at the moment, as I keep hearing countless stories from friends and family about the current anti-Semitic attacks occurring throughout the US as well as Europe & Canada. After reading this book I can‘t help drawing the parallels. My heart is heavy 💔
“Books don‘t have owners; they‘re free agents we just happen to hold for a brief time.” That‘s definitely the way I view books. I prefer to read them and then share them, although I‘m always “envious” when I see so many Littens beautiful shelves😍📚🙌🏻❣️#NetGalley #ARC
I received this ARC from Edelweiss. I found the letters written to a famous French author to be awkward until the very end. This isn‘t a true epistolary novel but it does incorporate letters written by the protagonist. It took me a bit to get involved in the story but once I got there, it was pretty intense.
