Set Boundaries, Find Peace
Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself | Nedra Glover Tawwab
End the struggle, speak up for what you need, and experience the freedom of being truly yourself. Healthy boundaries. We all know we should have them in order to achieve work/life balance, cope with toxic people, and enjoy rewarding relationships with partners, friends, and family. But what do "healthy boundaries" really mean - and how can we successfully express our needs, say "no," and be assertive without offending others? Licensed counselor, sought-after relationship expert, and one of the most influential therapists on Instagram Nedra Glover Tawwab demystifies this complex topic for today's world. In a relatable and inclusive tone, Set Boundaries, Find Peace presents simple-yet-powerful ways to establish healthy boundaries in all aspects of life. Rooted in the latest research and best practices used in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), these techniques help us identify and express our needs clearly and without apology - and unravel a root problem behind codependency, power struggles, anxiety, depression, burnout, and more.

I love this Quote by Nedra Tawwab, that I found on Instagram years ago. The Quote that holds undeniable importance in the eye of my mind goes like this “I am no longer committed to changing the minds of people who are committed to misunderstanding me. Convincing people to see me as I am is not the best use of my energy.“ Isn't she a smart cookie.

I came across this writer/author/influencer when I was working at my first-ever content creation internship a few years ago. It was during this pivotal time, that God worked in mysterious ways as usual, and I did what I loved and pursued content writing/blogging instead of social media marketing, and doing related courses. Seems like I have a gift of writing well being able to be 'articulate' about the message I joyfully put out there.

This was a great book! She discusses what boundaries are, why they‘re important, and how to have healthy boundaries in all areas of life. A very good and practical book!

I put this on my TBR ages ago because I am generally a person who could have better boundaries, but this book isn't just for people who struggle with them.

I think that anyone who has relationships -- personal, professional, via social media, could learn something from this book that would help them improve and maintain them.

The author Nedra Glover Tawwab does the audio herself, and she's amazing.

Each chapter covers setting boundaries in a different part of life/with different people in your life (ie family, friends, work, social media, self, financial, etc). Chapters end with exercises to help you set your own boundaries.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Impulse download after hearing the author on a podcast. There were some interesting and useful insights, along with some things I‘d encountered before. I‘d guess most people who are interested could find something useful in here.

Recently finished up a couple #BookSpin books that I have forgotten to post!

Set Boundaries, Find Peace is a definite 5 🌟 read. Loved every moment of it and honestly think every person should read it #DoubleSpin from March

The Fixer Upper by Lauren Forsythe just wasn‘t for me. Had to DNF ☹️ #BookSpin from June

I skipped #BookSpin for July but plan to get back into the game for August 🎉💕

This is probably one of the best self-help books I‘ve read. Was any of this advice about setting boundaries new and earth-shattering? No, not really. But Tawwab, a licensed clinical social worker and relationship therapist, somehow finds a way to state things in such a relatable, straightforward way that I found something helpful to underline on almost every page. I can definitely see myself coming back to this book often for helpful advice.

This was a quick read for me. It was a lot of good basic information about boundaries but nothing too in-depth. She briefly mentioned attachment & ACEs but didn‘t go into how much they can have an impact on your boundaries/relationships (which would have been a very different direction for this book). Overall it had some good tips. Gave me things to think about as I finish grad school & go back to the working world. #bookspin book

I started this book the other day. I figured it was perfect for this time of year (I have a MIL with lots of boundary issues). So far it‘s been a quick/interesting read.

My daughter recommended this book, and I‘m glad that she did. The author is a relationship therapist, and an Instagram influencer. This book exposed me to new ways of thinking and gave me insight into my daughter‘s reading. Not certain if I agree 100% with everything, but I do know that it is important to stand up for what you need to feel at peace.

ncsufoxes I bought Set Boundaries a month or two ago but haven‘t even had a chance to start it. I am hoping to have time to start in the near(ish) future 3y

I greatly enjoyed this book! I was reluctant to read it because I don't like most self-help books; however, Tawwab provides so many valuable lessons and vital points. Even as someone who has studied boundaries in school, I learned a great deal. The chapters and lessons are clear-cut;thus, it is not just for people who know psych and/or boundaries. The book was the perfect length. I think it can be applicable to any person!
