I loved this stand alone fantasy! Five bone makers defeated the evil bone maker and were hailed as heroes. Twenty-five years later, they find out that Eklor wasn't defeated and now they have to save the world again.

I couldn‘t get a very good picture but I did get a bingo in December—diagonal from the bottom left! And $16.55 for #pennyperpage. That was a fun experiment—I think I‘ll make sure to budget myself a minimum amount for books each month so that I know I‘ll be able to buy books when I want them.

I loved this! 25 years after they defeated the Big Bad, the heroes suspect he has returned. It‘s time to hand this over to the younger generation… right? This had some tropes I love and twist after twist, most of them just the right side of predictable for me. Zera reminded me of Zoya from the Grishaverse. The romances were perfect and I LOVED Kreya‘s little rag doll constructs! @HOTPock3tt – if you like, consider this added to #newyearwhodis!

4 🌟This was a really intriguing fantasy that felt fresh and different and surprised me quite a few times. I loved how so much it was such an adventure, but the last third or so felt so slow and almost boring by comparison.

I treated myself to some books earlier this month as a birthday gift to myself, and all but one (MINA AND THE UNDEAD, Amy McCaw) arrived today - just in time for a long weekend! Happy Friday!

Overall Rating 4¼⭐ | Narration 😕 = Should‘ve had more narrators
I loved the characters and their interactions with each other. Loved the Croco-raptors (not sure of spelling...because of audio); an imaginative mash-up of a predator. Loved the magic-ish bone-working system in this imaginary place called Vos. And last but definitely not least, I loved the reanimated objects/animals. ⬇ ⬇

AudiobookingWithLeah My only qualm is this did get a tad draggy, and not in a way of lacking action...it was more like it had too much action going on. And on and on. While I do love that it‘s a stand-alone; I felt like it should‘ve ended sooner than it did. 3y
Twainy After reading the summary on GoodReads I listened to the sample on Audible. You‘re correct, I‘m not sure I could listen to that narration for long but the premise of the book is amazing! I‘m glutton for punishment ... going to check the library apps 😆 thank you 3y
AudiobookingWithLeah @Twainy hope you like it. 🙃 I like Soneela Nankani as a narrator. I just get confused about whose head I'm in when it switches POVs. It should have had multiple narrators. 3y

Here is my #bookspin and #doublespin books for the month! It was being kind to me this month thankfully. At least I think it was...it remains to me seen. The tagged book is the #book spin which I will probably be starting with since it goes back to the library soon. @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Good luck!! 3y

I highly recommend The Bone Maker for readers of all ages. The visuals of how they use bones in their world can be dark sometimes but the beauty of the relationships and humor in their interactions puts this one miles above many fantasy novels in the same category. 5 stars

I can‘t believe I waited so long to push this to the top of my pile. I‘m half way through and this book is sooo good! I love the characters and their interactions and this world.
I thought Sarah Beth Durst topped herself in Race the Sands but she just keeps getting better.
I was so mad when I had to sleep last night because the chapter I ended on was just so 😱😱😱😱
