900 Days: The Siege of Leningrad
900 Days: The Siege of Leningrad | Harrison E Salisbury
2 posts | 3 read | 6 to read
The Nazi siege of Leningrad from 1941 to 1944 was one of the most gruesome episodes of World War II. Nearly three million people endured it; just under half of them died. For 25 years the distinguished journalist and historian Harrison Salisbury pieced together this narrative of villainy and survival, in which the city had much to fear - from both Hitler and Stalin.

It was a slow start on litsy for me. I just didn't get it. I've learned to navigate and as I've come to realize, 900 litfluence is nbd, but to me it feels like an accomplishment. I like the #thisorthat and #friYAYintro and #favoritefiveprediction type posts, but my absolute favourite part of litsy is to be able to look back at what I've read and track my #TBR. Connecting with fellow littens is pretty awesome too!

mrozzz Definitely a big deal! Congrats 😊 7y

#junebookbugs. It has been many years since I read this, but it left an indelible impression. So much #death, so much horror, and yet so much resilience.
