This novel's structure of portraying the main character obliquely through the perspectives of others just isn't working for me anymore. I don't care about Astra and I don't care about any of the narrators either. DNF at 118 pages.

Thanks to @Lindy for putting this book on my #ReadersRadar #SetInCanada told through multiple POVs, we learn about Astra a spirited woman born on a commune. Each chapter shares a glimpse of Astra‘s development from an independent 6yr old to eventually an impassioned 60 year old. #PoP22 #ConstellationInTitle
13 Ways of Looking At A Fat Girl meets The Glass Castle ish. Each story in this novel gives different insight into who Astra is from the POV of significant people in her life. A super quick and emotional read. As a daughter who had a conflicted relationship with her father, it got me right there.
A woman‘s life from birth into her senior years, as seen through the eyes of others. Each chapter jumps ahead in time and is told from the perspective of a different person. I love kaleidoscopic character-based stories like this. An added hook is that it‘s about an intentional community. To top it off, the writing is top notch. #CanadianAuthor #LGBTQ #shadowgiller2021
What do you think of this cover design? I resisted picking this up for a time because I don‘t like the look of it. Designer Lisa Jager has created other covers that I like but this one just doesn‘t do it for me. Am I in the minority on this?
I‘ve found it much, much harder to lose the people who never gave you enough, than it is to lose the ones who gave you everything.
There was another question that troubled him now. How could he be sure that when he went home, he wouldn‘t revert to the boy he used to be? How could he stay the person he‘d worked so hard to become?
Men sit around discussing liberation and free love and what a glorious new world they are creating, because now everyone can truly be “free” if they have the balls for it. And it‘s such bullshit. Clodagh has met hundreds of free men over the years, but she can‘t say she‘s ever met a free woman.

5🌟This novel is one of those you wont forget. Bowers brilliantly reveals Astra to us through ten perspectives of people who know her. I really loved this unique storytelling. I don't want to reveal too much as it is a journey best to go into fresh, but Bowers emotional prose and astounding character study absolutely blew me away! Hard to believe this was her debut. Cant wait to see what she does next! Highly recommend this one! #bookreview
This was very compelling and engaging reading. Who are you in the eyes of others and in turn who are you, what is your identity based on how others see you? Probably not the most articulate explanation, but I enjoyed this one very much.
