Tom Gauld‘s picture book is one that‘s destined to be a future classic. Charming, intelligent, full of wit, whimsy and warmth there‘s plenty of jokes in there for both young and older readers (in my view, probably better for youngsters aged 5+). There‘s plenty of potential here for a sequel, which I would definitely want to check out.

A super cute fantasy picture book with engaging page layouts and lots to discover. The story is fairly standard, but I think kids will remember the illustrations and comic-like layout. #PictureBook #Fantasy #Family

My campaign to read all the robot books in my local library continues...🤪
Standouts here were the beautiful cut paper silhouette art in Can you find my robot's arm? The adventure montages in the very sweet The Little Wooden Robot and the The Log Princess, and attention to accuracy in depicting planets (see author's note) in The Three Little Aliens and the Big Bad Robot. 🤖

I love Tom Gauld's work for its style and wit. The style is here in spades but the wit is mostly missing, having been replaced by sentiment. If you're familiar with his previous work, you're going to notice a change.

Beautiful fairy tale with unexpected twists. Were the vignettes of side adventures possible sequels to come? I hope so! #everybodybooks #gazingbooks

@moll and I had to stop and read this gorgeous picture book by the great Tom Gauld on our Christmas foyles pilgrimage. This was cute, quirky, soulful and funny and had the most gorgeous illustrations - if I knew any children in need of Christmas presents I would absolutely get them this!

1. I love picture books.
2. I love Tom Gauld.
3. This is the best picture book I have read in a while. The inside flap promised many adventures for such a tiny book, but Tom Gauld delivered in a very Tom-Gauldian way.

The story is so lovely! And the last illustration had me laughing so loud and for so long that @BookishMarginalia , who was trying to work, got a bit annoyed with me.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

WanderingBookaneer @LibrarianRyan : I think you would like this one. 3y
LibrarianRyan @WanderingBookaneer totally stacked. I‘ll request it when I get to work tomorrow. 3y
