The jaw-dropping conclusion to the acclaimed Founders Trilogy, from the Hugo-nominated author of Foundryside and Shorefall Bennett concludes his Founders trilogy . . . with characteristically high-spirited mayhem. Great fun, with nonstop action.Kirkus Reviews (starred review) Sancia, Clef, and Berenice have gone up against long odds in the past. But the war theyre fighting now is one even they cant win. Mehso-so

The third and final installment of the trilogy, and I have to say that I'm somewhat disappointed. There were some good parts, but all in all there were too many fighting scenes, too much melodrama and not enough connection to the characters. I especially missed that part. It used to be fun seeing the characters interacting and I felt like a part of their group. That didn't happen here. I guess it's an ok book, but to me it was a disappointment.

Bookish Song Nr 47: Monster

You're the pulse in my veins
You're the war that I wage
Can you change me?
Can you change me?

You're the love that I hate
You're the drug that I take
Will you cage me?
Will you cage me?

This whole song fits this weird father-son relationship so perfectly.

I can honestly say that I have never read a more perfect ending for a trilogy than what Bennett has written in this final book. 💚 I wasn't ready to leave these characters or this world behind, but that ending made it worth it.

The war has been raging for eight years, but the final battle is one full of action, heartache, surprises, and triumph. Excellent read!

TheSpineView Love a good series! 2y
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! 2y
