James Devlin is a celebrated artist whose past is as blank as an empty canvas. When Jan Bilowski brings a painting, which was a gift to her dead sister, into Mark Lewis's gallery, she tells him it was created by a seventeen-year-old boy called Charlie. Why then does the work look exactly like a James Devlinpainted a whole decade before the artist's career began on the other side of the country?

Just finished in time for book club tomorrow. I enjoyed the mention of places I know well here in Perth. I worked out early where the story was going but not how it would be resolved.
The author was taught by my uncle . Author now well know doctor in his field in Perth. He has operated on my uncle, aunt and brother. Also helped set up a research foundation when my aunt and uncle died.
An ok read but think he should stick to medical books.

This debut novel by a Perth surgeon was ok. Reasonably well-written in a fairly bland, some may say, surgical style 😝. A somewhat engaging mystery about the origins of a painting. I enjoyed reading a book set in Perth and Melbourne, as I‘ve lived in both cities. #bookclubread

Jeg I‘ve yet to read it. Last minute read. 1y

#upnext My final read for the school holidays. Back to work Monday. This is a bookclub read, chosen by a friend who lives in the suburb where the book is set, North Perth, Western Australia. My hometown of Melbourne also features.
