Mark Twain: Five Novels
Mark Twain: Five Novels | Mark Twain
5 posts
Mark Twain wrote his greatest works more than one hundred years ago, but he's never far from the minds of Americans. Whether it's the new, complete, and uncensored version of his autobiography hitting bestseller lists or the removal of certain controversial language from one of his novels, his name and his legacy remain a topic of conversationand undoubtedly will for years to come. There's no better time to appreciate his stories, or read them for the very first time. "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "The Prince and the Pauper," "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court," and "The Tragedy of Pudd'nhead Wilson" are collected in this timeless and elegant book. Part of the Canterbury Classics series, Mark Twain features a beautiful cover, a ribbon bookmark, and other elements to enhance the reading experience, along with an introduction by a renowned Twain scholar that will enlighten new and familiar readers alike. This edition of "Mark Twain" is a treasure to enjoy foreverjust like the writing of Twain himself! Lexile score: 1020L"

All of these lovelies came home from a thrift store haul! 😍

Most are for my #ReadLikeRory challenge, and some just caught my attention. The book on top is a Canterbury Classics collection of Mark Twain stories- sprayed gold edges & a leather cover! ❤️

Lcsmcat Lots of goodies there! I‘ve read at least half of those and they‘re all good. 5y
laur89 @Lcsmcat So glad to hear! I bought these simply because I‘d heard of the titles, and had no idea what the reviews looked like. 5y

Got to spend the day in Hannibal, MO getting to know Samuel Clemens. I have yet to read a single Mark Twain book, but did pick up this beautiful Canterbury Classics edition today. I never really felt compelled to read any of his writings until today. The book was too pretty to pass up.

Trashcanman Oh no! @kaye see what you started. 7y
Kaye You have just picked up a gem. Funny, really good writing. I liked Huck a bit more than Tom, but they‘re both great fun. 7y

#readJanuary #titlewithapropername Lots of proper names. 😊 I told my online book club that I love Mark Twain, and a member whom I've never met sent me this, and a Poe collection, and Grimm's fairy tales that all match. I love #kindness and #generosity! They're some of my prettiest covers.

LeahBergen That's beautiful! 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa That's beautiful (and so is the book)! What a wonderful random act of kindness! 8y
