These uniquely intense and disquieting stories left me feeling on the edge of a precipice looking out over an endless void...but in a good way.

Wallace‘s third short story collection which I plan to read someday...I think it‘s hard to feel lukewarm about DFW-readers seem to love his writing or dislike it a lot. I tried his Infinite Jest but bailed. But I did enjoy some other short stories.

We‘ve been taking lots of walks around the neighborhood to get out of the house and get some exercise #distractions #isolationinteractions
Catch up posts! I will absolutely haul this out again for a #onewordtitle this is probably my favourite collection of short stories. Endless love! #riotgrams
No offence to anyone's political persuasions but this morning has me feeling like this:
Opted for a short story for #booktober always find this an intriguing #greatfirstline
Ouch. Thanks DFW. You really start my weekends on a positive note! 🙄
I was torn with today's #augustphotochallenge and thought of Franzen on #underhypedbooks in which he place Infinite Jest so I decided to go in between. I feel DFW's short stories are overlooked waaay too much and this is my favourite collection. I added Nugent's 'You Don't Have To Like Me' as that definitely is overlooked! It's a fantastic collection of essays that are incredibly readable and accessible and yet so few have read them 😱 read away!
Possibly my favourite DFW short story collection (though I also love 'Brief Interviews With Hideous Men') 'The Soul Is Not A Smithy' and 'Good Old Neon' were favourites and a must for fans of short stories!
