One For My Enemy

In New York City, two rival witch families fight for the upper hand. The Antonova sisters are beautiful, cunning and ruthless, and their mother known only as Baba Yaga is the elusive supplier of premium intoxicants. Their adversaries, the influential Fedorov brothers, serve their crime boss father. Named Koschei the Deathless, his enterprise dominates the shadows of magical Manhattan. For twelve years, the families maintained a fraught stalemate. Then everything is thrown into disarray. Bad blood carries them to the brink of disaster, even as fate draws together a brother and sister from either side. Yet the siblings still struggle for power and internal conflicts could destroy each family from within. That is, if the enmity between empires doesnt destroy both sides first. From the no.1 international bestselling author of The Atlas Six, One For My Enemy is a captivating fantasy story of ambition, sacrifice and the enduring power of family legacies.

**my brother got me a kindle so I‘ve been blowing through some books without reviewing, apologies up top for the inundation of reviews by me and terrible pics**

Such a good read. A witchy take on Romeo and Juliet (ish). It was so good, the main characters were intriguing and I overall would recommend this book to anyone 4⭐️

This author has officially become an auto-read/buy for me. Critics have called her writing pretentious, but I love it: dark themes/settings, complex characters, magical realism elements, beautiful sophisticated prose.

This book centers on a Romeo & Juliet-esque feud between two magical families in the NYC criminal underground, with more than one forbidden romance.

Saknicole I neeeed to read this one 9mo
Kimberlone @Saknicole you would love it. Major Dramione vibes!! 9mo

Hi, friends! Long time no post!

I was in such a terrible reading slump during the spring and early summer (in May I only finished 2 books!), but I‘m finally back to regular reading and have a long backlog of book reviews to catch up on!

I‘m still 15 books behind on my yearly goal, so I am doubtful I will actually hit 100 books, but I feel good about where I am at now and am totally okay with missing the mark if it‘s not meant to be.

Amiable Welcome back! 9mo
Read-y_Picker Welcome back and good luck!

wanderinglynn Welcome back! And you can always do what I do when behind on a reading goal and unlikely to catch up, change the goal! 😉 9mo
Ruthiella I totally agree with @wanderinglynn ! 👍 Just change the number and don‘t stress. 9mo
Kimberlone @Ruthiella @Amiable @Read-y_Picker @wanderinglynn glad to be back! Litsy is still my favorite bookish place to gather and share. Just needed to get over my reading slump to feel excited about sharing what I‘m reading and writing reviews. I‘m totally okay with not hitting my goal, I‘ll probably keep it where it‘s at since I like round numbers ;) (edited) 9mo

Bk18 of my recent #BookMail (I know, but it‘s been trickling in for over a month!)is a witchy drama by the author of The Atlas Six. Two witch families are competing for a share of New Yorks underbelly. On one side are the Antonova sisters & their mother Baba Yaga, the other is the Fedorov brothers & their father Koschei the Deathless. After 12yrs of peace, a change in one family‘s interests causes a rift in their stalemate.
