This book was a nice twist on your typical #RomCom story. Highlights the importance of communication in relationships without being preachy or generic. The two different POV, each written by a different spouse/author, were especially entertaining. While the cover gives off ‘summer read‘ vibes, I think it‘s a fun read anytime of the year.
I really enjoyed this! And it was a refreshingly unique concept. I don't think I've ever read a romance novel featuring a couple that's already married, but it was incredibly endearing and sexy. Eliza and Graham are about to celebrate their 5-year anniversary, but they've been stuck in a rut, not communicating as well, and need to get their spark back. So when they meet each other at the bar and are "introduced" as strangers, they run with it.
A couple go away for their 5 year anniversary, trying to find what their relationship lost. Circumstances allow them to pretend they are meeting for the first time. I really enjoyed this fresh take on a romance about a couple who is already married. It was fun while also showcasing some honest things about imperfect marriages. Read while on my own 5 year anniversary trip to St. Lucia, with the BEST reading view from our room.
I really enjoyed this book! The authors also wrote The Roughest Draft but I haven‘t read it yet! I really need to read it soon because I liked this one so much. I fell in love with the characters and I was fully invested in their relationship! I definitely want to read everything from these two authors!
I really liked the concept of this one! The set-up for it worked, and the way the fake meeting/dating helped Graham and Eliza realize what was holding them back from their real relationship was beautiful done. I also like that the internal drama was enough - no need to add a third act breakup just to make it more "interesting." Shows trust on the authors' parts! #contemporaryromance
March‘s #Bookspin list, featuring mostly books that would be good vacation reads for our upcoming trip to St. Lucia (pictured in background). And then there‘s Middlemarch, which I‘m thoroughly enjoying reading with #PemberLittens and need a little boost to not get too far behind 😂
My first #authenticbooks box and to say I'm obsessed is an understatement! Such thoughtfully curated items, it felt like a Valentine for myself, haha. This could quickly become an expensive monthly habit 😹
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I haven‘t read many romance books about a married couple, so I was really intrigued by this #AuthenticBooks choice! It was fun to escape into their vacation and role playing adventures, and it also made me think about the value in making a conscious effort to continually rediscover your partner (and yourself) as your relationship evolves. I also thought the friend they met at the resort was endearing. Sweet, romantic, hopeful!
Next up is my newest book from #AuthenticBooks! The candle smells sooo good and I can‘t wait to do the face mask! They also sent a facial cleansing bar, coffee, and a tote bag (along with the usual customized playlist and food and drink recipes). The box is extra pretty this month, too!
Does anyone have opinions on the Authentic Book subscription? This was my January pick, but without having received it yet it's hard to make a decision on whether or not to pull the trigger on their February box. If I do, I'm leaning towards the new Jojo Moyes. Would love to hear any thoughts/opinions/reviews on this subscription! #authenticbooks
