Two sisters climbing the ranks of Dublins criminal justice system. A murder case that could change their lives forever. The Sisters is a gripping new thriller from one of the most exciting voices in crime fiction. In this prequel to the international bestseller The Ruin, set ten years prior, bright-eyed Carrie Ryan is at the very start of her career. When she has a hunch about an ongoing murder investigation, she knows it could be her only chance to prove herself and truly break into the boys club of Dublins police force. Carrie uncovers this make-or-break moment in a case file that her sister Aifric, a newly qualified barrister, leaves on their kitchen counter: Robert Collins has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend after a fight in a local pub. All signs point toward a guilty verdict, but both sisters quickly begin to find evidence that complicates the story. All the while, Carrie is very aware that shes crossed the lineif the detective sergeant running the investigation finds out shes been messing around with his case, her career will be over before it has begun.

Late in posting my reading for #20in4 #readathon. Finished 3 books, read chapters for 3 buddy reads & listened to The Sisters & began The Monument Murders. I enjoy the focus these readathons give me. Thanks @Andrew65 !

This was a surprisingly good short story. The plot and characters were good and the liked how the sisters worked together to solve the crime and help prove the man accused is innocent. This is a prequel and now I want to read the next in book the series. The narration was good too. 4⭐️ to both author and narrator.

This is a prequel to a series. It was a good introduction to the characters as well. There‘s one more prequel then I‘ll start The Cormac Reilly series. 📖

This short story is a prequel to The Ruin. I haven‘t yet read The Ruin…it‘s in my overflowing Audible library. This is set in Ireland where two sisters are beginning their careers in the criminal justice system. Aifric is a defense attorney and working hard to establish herself in this field. Carrie is new to the police department. At the center of the story is a young man accused of killing his girlfriend.

I loved this novella, and thought the narrator did a fantastic job 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Re-looking forward to The Scholar (#2 in the Cormac Reilly series). But… does anyone know how Cormac Reilly relates to The Sisters? I …. Must have missed it?

Picked up Before the Coffee Gets Cold and Murder in the Secret Garden (#3 in the Book Retreat mystery series). 👏🏽👏🏽

Thanks Audible for the nice surprise! Had forgotten this was going on. My Latest Audiobook I knew nothing of Dervla McTiernan before was Audible freebie. Would definitely read more of her work. Would like to see where The Sisters are now in their careers. Main Character narration was good, some of the minor characters not as good. Mostly a thing with male voices. Overall not too distracting because you didn't hear from them for very long. 🎧

I felt like the ending was a bit abrupt but otherwise an enjoyable read. i found the characters' motives hard to figure out.
