This book was better than I ever imagined! Fabulous narration made listening to this story a treat and added to the setting and words brilliantly penned by Daphne Du Maurier. #ClassicsChallenge2020 #JennyIs30

WatsonReads I remember being so surprised by this book when I read it. I had judged it by the title alone. One of my all-time favourites.

Set against the backdrop of fascist Spain 1940s this is a dark & heartbreaking tale of a young girl‘s imaginative journey to another kingdom filled with fantastical creatures, while soldiers are killing rebels in the real world. A mix of dark fantasy and politics, the book captures the evils of war very well. Great for those who like magic & a little darkness in their reads.

One of my all-time favorite couples. They decide to go to Europe for a romantic retreat, but every romantic moment is ruined by demons. I love Magnus Bane and I am so happy that Alex and he are finally the main characters and not just part of the supporting cast.

One of my favorite series is Preston & Child's Pendergast novels. This is the first one, Relic, which is about a monster loose in a museum. I really enjoyed rereading this 🖤

Museum politics are almost more frightening that the monster 🤦🏼‍♀️

I finished my reread of Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. I throughly loved it. I did feel sorry for Hermione though, she had a tough time in this one 💚

Linsy So glad! She really does. She goes through all the work of figuring things out and brewing the most difficult potion ever, but Ron and Harry get the glory. 6d

This enduring diary of a Jewish teenage girl who went into hiding from the Nazis with her family for two years, is an intimate account of her experiences, feelings and frank observations. It gives us a glimpse of the everyday fear and horrors of the Holocaust. Yet Anne‘s optimism is inspiring, and her diary reveals a sensitive girl who saw the best of human kind.

So why exactly did I wait that long? I guess a good book is a good book no matter how long you wait. I‘m broken, 😥😥😥. I need to go away and finish crying and process my thoughts.
Meets a load of prompts which I‘ll sort in a little bit when I‘ve composed myself 💔💔
My friends who love it, I totally see why.
Do I watch the film (in about 3 years when I get over it?!).

MicrobeMom This one still haunts me! 2w
Tanisha_A Gosh! I am waitingggg to read this. I have a copy too. 2w
