Great title for a second chance romance. Rosemary and Logan hate each other or do they? Add in a dying mentor and a road trip and this book has a lot going on.
I enjoyed this, but not nearly as much as I adored The Charm Offensive by Cochrun. I think Logan was too mean for me, and I didn't like it when her and Joe teamed up against Rosemary. I found the ending to be more emotional than I expected.
3.5⭐
I like the plot of two gay women taking their favorite teacher (also gay) on a cross-country trip so he can die peacefully in his favorite place (surrounded by not beige). It lost credibility for me since the two 32yo women were college grads (UofWash and Yale) and HS teachers with the emotional intelligence of middle schoolers. I can‘t countenance a 32 yo woman (let alone two) pining for their potential 8th grade love that got away.
This was a hard one because I had three 5 star reads this month (Here We Go Again by Alison Cochrun, Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, and Bride by Ali Hazelwood), but Here We Go Again talked about grief so beautifully and made me cry, so it gets the spot for March.

Long time rivals Logan and Rosemary are forced to spend a summer together when their dying mentor ask them both to take him on a final road trip across the country. Along the way they find out that maybe they've misunderstood each other and themselves for too long.
This book was wonderful and heartbreaking. I absolutely loved Joe, Rosemary, and Logan and their trip across the country.
Two women who were best friends as children but enemies since high school, join forces to move their beloved former HS teacher across the country as his dying wish. Shenanigans ensue as they come to terms with his reality as his life is ending and what is next for them as theirs is just beginning. This queer, buddy road trip adventure is funny, poignant, and unforgettable. I loved it! Releases 4/2. #ARC #metgalleygroup @AllDebooks
This was a wonderful lesbian romance with equal amounts of humour and tragedy. Two small town childhood best friends turned enemies turned opposites-attract soul mates are forced to spend time together and heal their old wounds when their shared queer elder and teacher mentor tells them he has terminal cancer and wants to do a cross country road trip to die in a cabin he owns on the other coast. Feat. demisexual and lesbian representation!
This is so good so far! Old best friends turned enemies have to take a cross country road trip as it's their queer former high school teacher / mentor's dying wish. Pretty sure part of his plan is to get these two ladies to forgive each other and fall in love #QueerBooks #Romantsy
