4 ⭐ Isume is back in the sequel to Tokyo Ever After. The new princess is learning more about Japanese life and her family every day. This book picks up right where a book one leaves off and the first event is Isume, is dumped by her bodyguard boyfriend. And while it is sad, she takes it well because there‘s romance all around her. Her mom and her dad are finally getting together, and they want to marry.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I forgot the 1st book, but this was still a good read! I love the flow and the plot very much!
Quick and enjoyable but quite cliché. Family drama and love triangle :)
First book of August finished! I liked this sequel as much as the first, and if there aren‘t any others in the series this would be a satisfying ending. Izumi and her mom are trying to find their own way in the royal world in Japan. This one has a little bit of fake dating, some unlikely allies, and a good setting. My only issue is the amount of pressure Izumi puts on herself to figure everything out — she‘s young! There‘s plenty of time.
I loved book number one and enjoyed book series number 2. I just love the story about a girl who finds out she is a princess and the pressure that is put on her now that she is in the line light of everyday news. Truly enjoyed this read.
After enjoying Tokyo Ever After, I knew I had to read the sequel. And what a sequel! In my opinion, it was better than the first book! If you love stories with us against the world vibes and family discoveries, you have to read this one! It‘s perfect for fans of the first and who love the Princess Diaries sequel vibes.
First off, I loved the first book in the series, Tokyo Ever After. It was one of my favorite books of 2021 which made me very excited to read the sequel. I still think that the first book was a tiny bit better, but for the most part I found the sequel to be a worthy successor.

This sequel really delivered. Izumi's story has that Princess Diaries inspiration woven into it, but the author gives her own distinct mark on the ordinary-girl-is-secretly-a-princess tale, and that's what makes me love this series more. It was also a little refreshing, if not sobering, to see a glimpse of what imperial life could be like in Japan. Culture is a major element here, and anyone interested in Japan will surely have fun reading this.
🎧 I loved this book even more than Tokyo Ever After! Zoom Zoom is back & trying to find her place in the world!
The Shining twins are also back 😆
Tropey but tropes I enjoy! A bit predictable but it was a fun read! Great cover art.
A royal wedding is in store or is it? Read the publishers summary, it‘s spot on & the narrator‘s great! Publication date - 5/31/22.
