An enjoyable cozy fantasy. The audio was excellent.
I'm glad I chose this as my first read going into 2025 because there's nothing like starting the new year on a five star read!
House of Frank absolutely wrapped itself around my heart and squeezed, and I mean that in the best way possible.
This book uses the most unique setting and characters to explore love, loss, grief, friendship, and found family in an unforgettable way.
Good morning Litsy!
I'm sorry I disappeared again; it's been a busy year! But I'm going to try to start posting more regularly again.
I also just finally joined StoryGraph! My username is speculative_female for anyone who would like to add me there.
In the meantime, my current read (one of my Christmas gifts!) is pictured and tagged above.
Happy Holidays to all!
I really enjoyed this. It is filled with various magical and unique fantasy characters. It is ultimately a story about found family, grief, and the cost of secrets. I loved how the relationships unfolded and the imagery the writer used. I was also surprised more than once. There is a lot of heart in the story. I would read more by this author. P.S. You'll probably cry.
4🌟 This is a nice debut novel. About a sister who is grieving her older sister. The way her grief was shown was very well not just explained, but shown. The slow progression of how the characters interacted and found similarities was interesting. The dialogue was rough to get used to, though pretty creative for having grief as its main theme. Overall, I liked it, just not much stood out as amazing; sweet and a great way to showcase grief.
Soft pick. This is a debut novel & it reads like one.
I thought the concept of the story was beautiful. I think this might have been a solid 4-star read had a better editor helped develop the characters & theme. As is, this is really more of a 3-star read.
My full review is on GR. But another book off my shelf & listed on my Pango shelf! #clearingmyTBR
“Sing for me,” you whisper. “Please.”
My first Bindery Books book from Ezeekat Press. Jayson (ezeekat) is on of my fave accounts to follow on IG. And I‘m super excited to dig into the first book he‘s published. The next book his Ezeekat Press is publishing also looks really interesting.
House of Frank releases to the public on October 15.
