He was the troubled face of rock n rolluntil he suddenly disappeared without a trace. Jane Pyre was once half of the famous rock n roll duo, the Lightning Bottles. Years later, shes perhaps the most hatedand least understoodwoman in music. She was never as popular with fans as her bandmate (and soulmate), Elijah Harteven if Jane was the one who wrote the songs that catapulted the Lightning Bottles to instant, dizzying fame, first in the Seattle grunge scene, then around the world. But ever since Elijah disappeared five years earlier and the bands meteoric rise to fame came crashing down, the public hatred of Jane has taken on new levels, and all she wants to do is retreat. What she doesnt anticipate is the bombshell that awaits her at her new home in the German countryside: the sullen teenaged girl next doora Lightning Bottles superfanwho claims to have proof that not only is Elijah still alive, hes also been leaving secret messages for Jane. I grew up in the 90s grunge era when this was set, so I couldn't wait to read this book. Five years ago, Elijah, the lead vocalist of the Lightning Bottles, drowned. He was the much loved member of the band, unlike his wife and partner Jane, who was also the last person to see him. There was a lot of mystery surrounding his death, and in Germany, a fan named Hen thinks she has found the ultimate clue 🖤

Have you read Lightening Bottles by Marissa Stapley yet?

This is for the reader who loves Daisy Jones and the Six or anything by Nick Hornsby.

@marissastapleyofficial The Lightening Bottles is full of mystery, romance, heartbreak and music, grunge to be exact. It might just make you cry like it did me. I'm a sucker for a good fictional celebrity book.

This book felt like a present to my generation. It was at once glorious and heartbreaking. It made so much sense now to see what stardom does to people and their relationships. It reflects what the media feeds fans' insatiable appetite to know everything about those we admire. How quick someone can change. I loved the ending!
