This was an enjoyable read about a grunge band‘s rise and fall in the 90s. Perfect if you enjoyed Daisy Jones and the Six.

This was an enjoyable read about a grunge band‘s rise and fall in the 90s. Perfect if you enjoyed Daisy Jones and the Six.

If there‘s a Daisy Jones & The Six or The Final Revival of Opal & Nev shaped hole in your heart, this might fill it. The first part felt a bit hazy with the second part feeling frenzied, though I did find pretty much every single person in the book unlikeable.
My fourth read for #14books14weeks

Jane and Elijah found love when they were young, not just for each other, but for music. Her music and lyrics and his voice propelled them to fame as The Lightning Bottles. From the Seattle grunge scene to worldwide stardom, Jane and Elijah lose themselves to a world of fame, fortune, and, ultimately, addiction. When Elijah mysteriously disappears, the world is shocked, and Jane is blamed by their fans when he is presumed dead.

I grew up in the 90s grunge era when this was set, so I couldn't wait to read this book. Five years ago, Elijah, the lead vocalist of the Lightning Bottles, drowned. He was the much loved member of the band, unlike his wife and partner Jane, who was also the last person to see him. There was a lot of mystery surrounding his death, and in Germany, a fan named Hen thinks she has found the ultimate clue 🖤

Have you read Lightening Bottles by Marissa Stapley yet?
This is for the reader who loves Daisy Jones and the Six or anything by Nick Hornsby.
@marissastapleyofficial The Lightening Bottles is full of mystery, romance, heartbreak and music, grunge to be exact. It might just make you cry like it did me. I'm a sucker for a good fictional celebrity book.

This book felt like a present to my generation. It was at once glorious and heartbreaking. It made so much sense now to see what stardom does to people and their relationships. It reflects what the media feeds fans' insatiable appetite to know everything about those we admire. How quick someone can change. I loved the ending!
