Exhume (The Schwartzman M.E Series, Book 1) | Danielle Girard
Annabelle Schwartzman is being hunted by her husband, Spencer McDonald, who threw her across their bedroom, caused her to lose their unborn child and refuses to grant her a divorce.A decade later and thousands of miles away, Schwartzman is now a Medical Examiner for the San Francisco Police Department.Unfazed by death, Schwartzman is immediately unnerved when she arrives at the scene of a dead woman holding a bouquet of yellow roses exactly like the bouquet she received from Spencer the day before.Certain that Spencer murdered the woman, Schwartzman must convince her colleagues in Homicide that Spencer's alibi is not as airtight as it seems, before she becomes his next victim.PRAISE FOR DANIELLE GIRARD:"Girard knows how to rivet your attention." ~Michael Prescott, New York Times bestselling authorTHE SCHWARTZMAN, M.E. This author is new to me and has a strong backlist. Yay—more for my TBR! In the first of the series, we meet Dr. Annabelle (Anna) Schwartzman who‘s a medical examiner in San Francisco. She‘s also trying to escape a physically and psychologically abusive husband. He is straight up nasty! These two halves of her life begin to converge in Exhume.

Very enjoyable quick read. I found my mind wondering a few times, but I‘m easily distracted.

#Characters2017 #completepsycho All three of these dark and twisty thrillers have characters who are complete psychos in them. The kind of complete psycho who seems completely evil, diabolical, and almost inhuman.😱😱😱

I really enjoyed this book however it did give me the creeps a few times. The main character is a badass medical examiner who has to face and overcome her dark past to catch the killer. Looks like there are more in the series-looking forward to what else is to come.

Max says 'Hey! Happy #NationalCatDay!' Kindle First pick & 1st book of a new series from a new-to-me author. SFPD Medical Examiner Dr. Anna Schwatzman is starting to feel safe from her abusive husband when a homicide victim bears a striking resemblance to her & evidence at the scene leads her to believe it is much more than coincidence. I didn't love everything about it but interesting premise, twists & many strong suspenseful moments #catsoflitsy

DebinHawaii Review Continued... Some implausibilities in a few plot points and a few main character decisions that made me groan, but I liked Schwartzman overall & would read a 2nd book. The forensic information rang true which I like. Some trigger warnings for domestic abusive & some graphic scenes. 7y

AmyS For some reason, I read that as "homicide victim bears" as in ? and now I have strange images of bear-shaped chalk outlines and teddy bears with stab wounds in my head. 7y
DebinHawaii @AmyS Oh my! Poor little murdered bears! 🐻🐻🐻 Well at least I didn't use the incorrect 'bares' instead so you didn't envision naked victims! 😂 7y
