Volume 1&2 of the graphic novel adaptation of The Stand.
I'm actually impressed at how well the story is paced so far. For example, they don't waste a lot of pages on Nick's time as deputy, but they leave space for scenes like Lloyd's prison time and the Lincoln Tunnel to breathe. The artist is the same that recently underwhelmed me with heavy lines and thick shadows in The Bat-Man First Knight, and he's still not my favorite, but it happens.

Nick Andros got beat up and ended up in jail. He woke up and is telling the cop what happen. I predict he is going to snitch on the guys who banged him up.

Oh Flagg, you are not a nice man, but I love you on this cover. Today I found out my library has the graphic novel version of The Stand, so now I am happily becoming reacquainted with this world. It is really pretty true to the novel as far as I remember, and is a quick read. Now I just have to wait for the next to come in on hold. #losersclub #constantreader

It's so fun being able to re-enter the world of the Stand (though a little paranoia inducing since I'm coming down with the same bug my husband and brother-in-law had.) The illustrations in this graphic novel are gorgeous and easy to follow. For those who have read the Stand: it's very true to the story. For those who haven't read the Stand: 1) you should, 2) this is a great, quicker representation of the story. Onto #2!
