We‘re about to enter Faulkner House Books and my daughter notices the sign ‘Maximun Occupancy 12‘! Cute store with several First Editions, all of James Burke‘s NOLA books, a beautiful set of Jane Austen‘s Books, and a set of Penguin Drop Caps A-Z. #NewOrleans #GetIndie

BookaholicNatty Soooooo awesome!!!!! Book store bucket list destination!!! One day! ❤️📚 2y
Lola I love this little spot. And never noticed that sign! ? Café DuMonde is just a short walk away! I‘ll be in NOLA next week-can‘t wait to take my daughter to both of those places. Enjoy! 2y
Cortg Nice! We‘re thinking New Orleans in December. I‘ll make note of This! 2y

LizzieChantree I really enjoy discovering a new bookshop. It's so exciting! 📚📚 2y
tpixie @BookaholicNatty it‘s a nice little shop- very little -but some great reads in there. 2y
tpixie @Lola snap- we just missed each other! We just had Beignets & Café du lait yesterday- the line moves pretty fast- don‘t be afraid!! (edited) 2y
tpixie @Cortg it‘s a tiny place tucked away on Pirates Aly, between the St Louis Cathedral & The Cabildo right at Jackson‘s Square area. 2y
tpixie @LizzieChantree @DeborahSmall this a little gem of a place!! 2y
vivastory This makes me want to visit New Orleans again! 2y
tpixie @vivastory lol yes! And the food isn‘t bad, either. I keep coming back to New Orleans! I‘m hoping to get to another indie in the Garden District, but may not make it there! 2y
emilyhaldi Love it!! My fav city ❤️ enjoy!! 2y
rustoryhuf We stumbled across this bookstore a few years ago. Love it. Love Nawlins💗 2y
Quasifesto I was there just a couple of weeks ago. The best curated bookshop ever! 2y
tpixie @emilyhaldi @rustoryhuf this is a great place to visit!! We come every several years!! 2y
tpixie @Quasifesto the selection was great for such a small place and the Lady that worked there was so knowledgeable!! 2y
tpixie @Cortg just found another book in the Quarter- Dauphine Street Books is on Dauphine just a little east of Conti St It opens at 11:00- so it was closed- I‘ll check out later! . It has new and used books. 2y
LizzieChantree @tpixie 😀🌈📚 2y
LeahBergen You should check out Beckham‘s Bookshop on Decatur, too. 👍🏻 2y
TheBookStacker Dauphine is great. Octavia in uptown is great as well. Also the bookshop on oak street is amaze. 2y
mrp27 Fun! 2y
Mdargusch Fun! 2y
Cortg @tpixie Rhanks for filling me in on your bookstore finds, I love it! Hope you‘re having a fabulous time. 2y
tpixie @LeahBergen thx for the tip!! 2y
tpixie @TheBookStacker oh my! Lots of great book stores!! 2y
tpixie @Cortg I think The Gumbo Shop 630 St Peter has the best seafood gumbo so far! Mr B‘s Bistro‘s was good too. I like the darker colored gumbo. New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood had great catfish 541 Decatur St. 😊 2y
Cortg Yum! I‘ll have to round everyone up this weekend and nail down the trip. It‘s been a long time since I‘ve been to New Orleans, like before Katrina. 2y
tpixie @Cortg ♥️♥️♥️ 2y

One of my favorite #mapsinbooks is of Faulkner's Yoknapatawpha County, a fictionalized version of Oxford, Mississippi, where many of Faulkner's works take place. This is a digitization of the one Faulkner drew for The Portable Faulkner, published in 1946. #somethingforsept

Hobbinol Darn. You posted it before I could! Great choice (if I do say so myself)!☺️ 3y
Jamesmelvinmitchell I made a copy of his map and refer to it as I read. 2y

I've seen you guys post some real gems on Litsy today, but these are the two ugliest covers in my collection. Not sure why they made the dark, indistinct image on The Fountainhead so small, and therefore even more indistinct. And in the Faulkner collection they put some weird filter on a perfectly good image of trees against sky, then stuck a shifty-eyed photo of him in the not-quite-top-corner.
