These short story anthologies by editor-extraordinaires Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling from the 1990s helped usher in the age of #fairytaleretellings we have now. These reimaginings of fairy tales 'for adults' (YA/adults reading YA wasn't a thing yet) contain fantasy, horror, and fiction from the likes of NeilGaiman, JaneYolen, TanithLee, to JoyceCarolOates. The number of authors & stories are almost as limitless as the originals that inspire them.
