I am currently reading Akala's Natives which is the first book I have read to do w anti-racism this year and next up is Black and British! As for how many on my to be read: good lord, VERY MANY!

#integrateyourshelf @Emilymdxn @ChasingOm

ChasingOm Oh, that looks good! I‘ll need to branch out past US centric anti-racism at some point. 🙃 4y
Moll @ChasingOm And I need to start on tackling the US eventually!😂 4y
jenniferw88 Natives made my #19in2019 list last year, as well as this one: 4y

rockpools I thought Black and British was excellent- Olusoga‘s such a good storyteller. And I was shocked how little UK black history I knew of. 4y
Moll @jenniferw88 Ooo nice! I will add that one to my to read list!! 4y
Moll @RachelO Fab!! Really looking forward to reading! 4y

Late as usual, here's my #19in2019. I just realized after spending an hour on this image, that I fucked up and forgot to add one, The Black Maria. It's so good. Just read it.

Nute Wonderful post! Excellent reading accomplishment for 2019. Slight surprise about Mr. Fox, but I like it! 4y
Cathythoughts I read Station Eleven this year too. What a brilliant book Must check out some more of these 👍🏻📚 4y
Centique Wow, what a list! I love the classics you‘ve picked - Love Medicine is so good! Which makes me think I‘m bound to love your other picks - so keen to read the Oyeyemi and Swamplandia in particular. 😍 4y
Billypar @BarbaraBB I figure if we say it enough about our favorites after a little time has passed, who knows, maybe it will become true? 4y
Billypar @Cinfhen Thanks Cindy - this was a great idea for an end of year list. Happy 2020 to you as well!! 4y
Billypar @Nute Thanks! I was thrilled to discover Oyeyemi this year - the only author to appear twice on this list, and I'm pretty confident I'll be reading more of hers in 2020 - definitely an instant favorite! 4y
Aimeesue Saunders and Oyeyemi! ❤️❤️❤️ Great list! (edited) 4y
Billypar @Cathythoughts That was one that definitely lived up to the hype. I'm excited there's a sequel coming! 4y
Billypar @Centique Erdrich, Russell, and Oyeyemi are all authors that I've vowed to read everything they've written (will take much longer in Erdrich's case - I've only read 3 so far!). Interested to hear what you think of the latter two- I've seen lots of varied responses to both. 4y
Billypar @Aimeesue Thanks! I'm very happy with how the year worked out: so many 5-star reads ☺ 4y
readordierachel Love your choices! 4y
Billypar @readordierachel Thanks! I like your list as well - we have a few authors in common, and there's some more on yours it's high time I pick up, like Whitehead and Rooney. 4y
Suet624 I‘m so happy you included Love medicine and Constellation. Two of my absolute favorites. And why don‘t more people know about Anthony Marra? 4y
Billypar @Suet624 Cause they're not on Litsy? ☺ It's not my only book media source but definitely the biggest one - either for introducing to new authors or pushing me to read the ones I'm dimly aware of. 4y
Suet624 @Billypar I guess you‘re right. Maybe I should start tweeting about him but I‘m a novice at Twitter. Litsy has expanded my reading options SOOO much. It‘s been a huge blessing. 4y

Here's my top reads of the year!!
Some are a slight cheat with more than one book/comic in the series
Mostly YA which is my favorite genre, and a lot of pretty covers (coincidence?? 😆)

Year reading totals:
55,481 pages
220 things read/listened to
89 print
112 digital
19 audio
69 comics

Male authors/artists: 85
Female authors/artists: 169
I'm happy about this stat compared to last year 😁

glitterkitty459 *Continued* Happy New Year and I hope everyone has a great reading year in 2020!!! 😁📚 4y

This was not the easiest thing to do! Of 210 books finished in 2019, 46 were five-star reads for me. I‘ve narrowed those down to my top #19in2019 (in no particular order).

bookandcat Great list! I had the same problem had about 50 5 star reads lol. Poisonwood Bible is one of my all time favorite books. It is even better upon rereading (especially the prologue chapter when you realize who is actually the narrator, oh my heart) 4y
MoonWitch94 The Highland Witch & The Lost Queen are both on my tbr for this year! Good to hear they are excellent reads. 4y
Daisey There are a few on this list I really want to get to! Looks like a great selection. 4y

HOTPock3tt Great list!! The Highland witch, the lost queen, the N.K Jemison one, and the clockmakers daughter are all on my TBR! Now I‘m more interested in them! 😃 4y
