Mid-day coffee and a book. #coffeeandbooks

This book surprised me! It started off a bit mundane but then took an eerie and thrilling turn! The language is elaborate and the short story really gripped me🫶🏽 5/5🌟 and possibly one of my favorite books this year!

Starting this one today! Havn‘t heard of it before but it sounded very interesting - so I had to buy it🤗

Book 3 in Jane Wunderly mystery series.
Easy read, interesting mystery, a little romance.

The third book in the #CaptainJimAndLadyDianaMysteries series has the fixed-setting & locked-room trope as the duo cross the Atlantic from Boston to Liverpool. When the unofficial Spanish diplomat is found dead, an investigation is soon underway! Unfortunately some of the best dialogue is kept offsides & the overly passive language slows the pacing down. Though well-researched, a few vocabulary words appear before their time here. Still enjoyable!

The characters are well-crafted and the mysteries are captivating. . Neubauer adds humor with a precise hand and captures the time period nicely.

Finished this audiobook today. I just sat and listened to it outside. It was so peaceful. I really love this series and it‘s great on audio. This was just recently published. Jane and Redvers pose as a married couple on a ship to America. Set in 1920s. This is the 3rd book in the series.

Ultramarins is a very poetic book about a cargo ship in the middle of the Atlantic. I can‘t say anymore without revealing the plot, but it‘s awakening so many of my fears and neuroses...
