Mehso-so

I didn't love this book. I didn't hate it either though. I keep seeing it pop up in the #bestof2019 stuff. Am I the only one not in love with it? The ups and downs of their relationship was a bit exhausting for me.

Booklover2 Ugh I just finished it and didn‘t like it at all 2mo

2019 was not my best year with 17 books read. But there were only a few pearls among them, so that I could not choose more than these 6. I hope 2020 will have more exciting books for me. #6of2019 #comic #novels #bestof2019

My #bestof2019.

I had a weird reading year. I had bouts of reading malaise. I fell off the Litsy bandwagon and I don‘t why. I stopped puzzling (which means no audio-puzzling). I couldn‘t get into any audio by the end of the year. I basically spent about 70% of my year hopefully one-clicking romance. I did find some great new romance authors (a topic for a different post). And I missed my GR mini-stretch goal by 5 (100/105) and I‘m ok with that!

ravenlee I LOVED Well Met! 2mo
MarriedtoMrT @ravenlee It just gave me the best warm, fuzzy feelings! I can‘t wait to see what else she writes. 2mo

Suet624 I always forget the title of “In the Distance“. I was just thinking about that book the other day. Such a good book. 2mo

To no one‘s surprise, my Best of 2019 is a whole lot of queer stuff and a poetry collection about my local river.

In some ways, it‘s a good reflection of what I read. 2019 was my (unplanned) Year of Awesome Romance, after all, and Canadian content and fantasy are also well-represented.

BUT, no comics made the cut and I don‘t feel great about how the list is 2/3 white. Clearly I need to seek out more queer work by BIPOC in 2020. #bestof2019

CarolynM I loved those Rachel Reids and Red, White and Royal Blue🙂 2mo
xicanti @CarolynM they all hold a special place in my heart. 2mo

I thought about doing a #Top19of2019, but to be honest, these two were in a league of their own! They moved me, made me thoughtful and emotional, and they have become some of my all time favourites. So my #Bestof2019 are the two above books, and I hope for books like these in 2020 🤞

ElishaLovesBooks Totally agree! I loved Normal People-her writing is exceptional! 2mo
MrsMalaprop As a fellow psych I can‘t help having a chuckle at the titles of the books you most loved 😅. And I‘ve read neither of them, although Normal People has so been calling to me... 2mo

These are my top 10 books of 2019! 😄 There are a few close ones I might switch around depending on how I‘m feeling at the moment, but for now, these are in order 1-10 starting in the top left corner.

Here are my favorite reads for 2019. Since my reading was 50% fiction/50% nonfiction, I broke it down to my favorites for each genre. Sorry if the writing is hard to see--I'm at work so I don't have time to fiddle around with creating graphics. 🤷🏻‍♀️Ask me if you want to know more! :) #bestof2019
