Such a fun author to read! All the books by this #Japanese author are totally #weird. My favorite of his novels was “The Ark Sakura”. This novel I won from a book release challenge by fellow #BookCrosser GoryDetails. Thank you. In the novel so far, a private investigator has been hired to find a woman‘s husband who mysteriously & suddenly disappeared while standing near a manhole cover in the middle of the summer. Not much to go on, eh? 😃

This is a book I got from a fellow #BookCrosser. The author tells her own story of being a seven-year-old child when she and her #Japanese American family were sent to an internment camp at the onset of World War II. I find this book an upsetting but necessary read.

What a great surprise this was! I got this book in the mail from #BookCrosser GoryDetails for releasing the most books for her #BookCrossing 2021 April Showers May Flowers release challenge. This was the first book I ever put on my BookCrossing wishlist. I had to start reading it right away, of course. Never mind the other three books that I am also currently reading! 🤣🤣🤣

Mailing this one off to a #bookcrosser and forgot to take a picture before I packaged it 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I enjoyed this even though romance (and especially contemporary) isn‘t really my first choice anymore. It‘s mostly light & fluffy with enough real-ness to the characters to make it enjoyable. Evvie is dealing with the death of her husband and Dean is coming to grips with the fact that he can‘t pitch. Together they try to figure out how to move on.

This book definitely broke my heart. The story of two women in Afghanistan, born to completely different circumstances and generations, who end up married to the same man. It is a story of friendship, betrayal, war, loss, abuse and ultimately love. This book will stay with me for a long time and will ultimately be one of my favorites. It‘s ready to travel and hopefully touch another reader. #bookcrossing #bookcrosser #bookmail

Not necessarily an easy or quick read but a worthwhile and fascinating read for sure. There was a plethora of information about libraries and books mixed with the story of the Los Angeles Library fire of 1986. Overall, worth the time and extra attention to finish this one, thoroughly enjoyed it. I‘ll be sending it out to a fellow #bookcrosser on Monday. #bookcrossing #booktrade #bookswap

Found this book in the main lobby of Grand Strand Regional Medical Center as I was checking on a book of mine that I had released earlier. I thought I might have stumbled on a wild release so I picked it up. Unfortunately it wasn‘t bookcrossed but it‘s previous owner had the idea. Kind of a themed release as well considering it‘s a novel about medical malpractice left in a hospital lobby. #bookcrossing #bookcrosser #wildrelease #booksinthewild

I‘m having a hard time finding something I want to read after having immersed myself in Garth Ennis‘s Preacher series for the past few weeks. I will now try this novel as I‘m familiar with the author, and I always find it comforting to settle down with a good book of contemporary Japanese fiction. This novel was recommended to me long ago by #BookCrosser Dunzy, sadly no longer alive. He got me into reading others works by this noted author.

What a fun surprise! Today in the mail I received a #RABCK (random act of #BookCrossing kindness) from fellow #BookCrosser hyphen8. I had this book on my wishlist because I‘ve enjoyed reading some of the strange novels (and especially the short stories) of this author. I‘m very much looking forward to reading this book which came to me all the way from Hawaii. 😲
