Anyone else get sunburnt this weekend?
Crazy weekend did involve some much needed rest and reading. Chilled out by the river and read a fun (yes I said fun) murder mystery.

#90sinJuly #CaliforniaLove

My first thought was Grapes of Wrath. Someday I will give this novel another try. #TBR

monkeygirlsmama Read this for the first time a couple years ago with my daughter. It was assigned reading for her in either 6th or 7th grade, I can't quite remember. What I do remember is that I found it just okay. 7y
kricheal I read this in a high school novels class, and I during our discussion on it most of the class hated it. O loved it though. 7y
Cinfhen It's a good choice, for sure but I'm meh about the book...it was slow & depressing 7y
underthebelljar @monkeygirlsmama @kricheal @Cinfhen I definitely did not think highly of it when I was a teenager haha. But I'll give it another shot as an adult. I know it's definitely a depressing read. 7y

"People hurt each other. It happens to everyone. Intentionally, unintentionally, regretfully or not. It's a part of what we do as people. The beauty is that we have the ability to heal and forgive."

Side note: not sure if this counts for #californialove but is it even a cross-country roadtrip if you don't stop in California? I mean really... I'm pretty sure that part of this took place there. Lol

Robothugs Counts for me! I love the quote. 7y
EchoLogical @Robothugs 🎉🎉🎉 7y

Day 13 of #90sinJuly - for #californialove I had to go with my favorite twins, Jess and Liz. I've been reading through the entire Sweet Valley High series for the first time this year and am having so much fun! The twins are your quintessential 80s/90s California babes (because they were in high school for 20 years technically). What's not to love? #SVH #twins #nostalgia

EchoLogical Why didn't I think of this?! Loved those books! 7y
JenlovesJT47 @EchoLogical I absolutely credit this series with my love for reading! I own most of the series and they also now have them on kindle unlimited and openlibrary.org for free. So fun! 7y
Cinfhen Great choice💕 7y
