pickMonticello has long received serious attention, but only with this exhibition and catalogue have its contents received equal billing. Hundreds of Jefferson's belongings were returned for this exhibit, making it look more like the home Jefferson knew. With fully illustrated chapters on paintings, drawings, sculpture, furniture, silver, scientific instruments, clocks, maps, Native American artifacts, musical instruments, personal objects, etc.

I love when work and my love of books collide ❤ It's a crappy pic, but this is the Rotunda at UVa. It's made up of books with this fantastic quote underneath, and the mat colors are the UVa scheme - navy blue & orange for anyone unfamiliar. I'm assuming this piece is being hung in one of the offices @ one of the libraries. I also talked to one customer about Jenny Lawson tonight bc she was telling me about her love of taxidermied animals lol

And as much I love Ms Angelou's words here, the fact is that I do hate the white supremacists & KKK & Nazis who invaded #Charlottesville this weekend. My hate for them is based in their belief that I am not human, that my Jewish & black & POC friends & family are not human. That fucking hurts.
I'm trying to read to distract myself but honestly, it not working right now.
