Tia Levings is an amazing, strong, powerful, courageous woman who went down a very dark road, all in the name of doing the right thing and being a good person. I once found myself inching down that road, but luckily turned back before I got anywhere near as far as she did. The moment she finally listens to and trusts her intuition is glorious!

GingerAntics Her heartbreaks throughout are gut wrenching. I felt like I was in every moment with her, viewing an alternate life I could have had. This is such an important book, especially right now, with this being forced on more and more Americans. We must be aware of what is really being pushed, so that we may never forget how vital it is to keep pushing back. 17h

Prairiegirl_reading This is true. I hadn‘t given him a second thought until just now. I have a hard time with forgiveness and I think I tend to write off religious extremists like this guy. I have nothing in my heart for them. I hope he is locked up on second thought. 17h

GingerAntics @Prairiegirl_reading I know! I‘m hoping he got psychiatric help after they put him on that 72 hour hold and he ended up in for a week! 17h

I‘m not sure I‘m ready for this, but it‘s better than even more little league World Series for the rest of my life, so here goes nothing.

I could not stop listening, I was just so compelled. I first heard about this case from the show How I Escaped My Cult. The author was one of the people interviewed for the show. This is much more of a deep dive into not just the case, but the church, and the Leonard family.

GingerAntics It is very well written, and I really enjoyed the discussion of how Lucas‘s and Christopher‘s father deconstructed from the cult and started to realise the truth about his former church. I feel like the true perpetrator of every atrocity that ever happened in that church, Tiffanie, got off with one of the lightest sentences. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 23h
GingerAntics Neither of their parents would have ever touched their sons had it not been for her madness. Don‘t even get me started on the debacle that was the death of Tiffanie‘s father, Jerry. #SusanAshline #WithoutAPrayer #cult #HighControlReligiousGroup (edited) 23h

I liked this book very much. We read about 5 survivors of a cult, 120 of whom disappeared almost 15 years ago. DiLouie weaves their present and past together giving them this tortured and tragic, kicked out of Eden vibes mixed with “what did happen to us? Maybe we should go back and find out?” I loved it all and really wished the best for these people. I listened to it on audio while roadtripping and was hooked the whole time. Pick!

BarbaraBB Great review. Sounds very good! 1mo
