I don‘t remember being so emotional the first time I read this, but this one is a real tear jerker, especially once Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts. This is an absolutely perfect ending to the series (and I do believe this should be counted as the ending of the series).

I love this so much. Harry is such a good dad. For me, that‘s the worst part of The Cursed Child. That‘s just not the kind of parent Harry is. I found it amusing that Harry‘s son would end up best friends with Malfoy‘a son, though.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I did not enjoy The Cursed Child. I can imagine that Harry would have flaws as a parent, but his characterization in that book was like a completely different person. 4y

GingerAntics @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick EXACTLY!!! I felt the exact same way!!! I felt like he was channeling Uncle Vernon at times or something. I‘m sorry, but there is no way Ginny was going to stand by and let that go on. I imagine Harry as a father more like Mr. Weasley than Uncle Vernon, maybe even a little of Dumbledore thrown into the mix. He never acted that way in the entire series, but suddenly he‘s acting that way in The Cursed Child? No way. 4y

GingerAntics @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I almost didn‘t finish TCR because I was just ticked at the suggestion Harry would be that kind of parent. Like you said, I‘m not suggesting he‘d be a perfect parent, because no parent is, but he wouldn‘t be that kind of parent. Ugh. 4y
